OK....the wait is killing me:uhoh3: So I thought I would start a thread to see just how many people are waiting like me. If you have heard anything like when we might hear something let us know.

Oh yeah I meant to ask you guys if you were suppose to turn in a print out with your Compass score on it. I remember thinking I needed to put mine with my packet but now I honestly can't remember if I did or not. Watch that keep me out-that would suck!

Paula

You write your compass score on the application. They will look it up to verify it.

Good Luck!

Well, have you thought of applying for Lawson State Community College? They have a night program and it would take the same time as the day program.

ok guys so when do we need to start stalking the mail lady? Is anyone trying to get in the full time Shelby campus program? Quick question how did you ladies turn in your packet? Did you place it in Tiffany's hand or did you mail it? My packet was in a folder not a envelope so I'm hoping nothing got lost. Have a great night!

Dont know yet. Last semester her answering machine said when the letters were sent. I might call later tonight to check and see if her answering machine says anything! I will report back!

I am going for the part-time at Jefferson Campus. I handed my application and transcripts to Mrs. Johnson.

Update - Nursing advisors answering machine hasn't changed. She still says they are processing applications. As of 12pm 06/10/08.

Just wanted to let yall know that we didnt get our letters till mid JULY last year!! Looks like yall have several more weeks till you hear! Get your rest now while you can because it will be full speed ahead once you are notified!!:onbch: I can give yall a heads up....if you do not have your CPR ( it has to be the one for medical personnel) go ahead and get it. If you are a Hoover resident its FREE at the fire department. You can go online and look it up. Its offered only once a month. They will offer it thru class but will cost you $30.00. Go ahead and save some money while you can :) Also start on your vaccines. You can go to the nursing department and get a blue form that needs to be filled out by the DR. Start studying medical terminolgy. That will be a self studying and you will have a Test on it. The book that is used is called Exploring Medical Language. You can get it at the bookstore now and start working on the material..one less thing to worry about when classes start.

I also heard that the summer group started with 30. They said the numbers were down that applied for the summer. Perhaps the numbers will be down for fall too. Something to be stay positive about! Our cut off last fall was 180 as a FYI.

Best of Luck to all on your dream :caduceus::nurse:

Thanks for the info on things to get started doing. I was just looking for the book online and saw a couple of different editions. It looked like the 6th edition might be the newest. It had a red cover. Does that sound right?

AWESOME! Thanks for the tips- now I have something to do!

Seconded on the edition question- I would like to get this now.

Looking at the Pioneer Bookstore's website, edition 7 was just released.

Update: thought I would share

I emailed the advising department to ask how far they were along this was the reply I got...

The nursing advisors have finished their part of the process (506 applications) and now the acceptance process will go to the deans and the nursing department. I can not give oyu an exact date but that is where things are along the process.

I did not ask what the cut off points were - I wish I had though!

Hmmm...very interesting. Now if we just knew how long that next step typically takes. I wonder how that 506 compares to the last several semesters? Do you think they would tell us the cut-off if we asked? I assumed they wouldn't until letters were mailed. I might just call & ask tomorrow. Who exactly did you email today?
