Who's taking A&P II this summer? (2010)

Published

I'm two days away from being done with A&P I, and A&P II is a 6 week class online this summer.

Who will be taking A&P II as well?

My grade posted today and I got an A for A &P II!! I'm so happy....all that studying paid off! Now to tackle chemistry for summer II...

Congratulations Serene Peach!

wow that is great!! i'm currently taking A&P II for this summer and its very intense. I just had 3 quizzes and did bad for this last 2 and also did bad on the first lab practical. I don't know what i'll do. I'm working full-time and the same time trying to catch up with the work in this class. I have 3 more quizzes to go and 3 more lab exams and a midterm and final. Any of you guys attend laguardia community college? If so, please PM me.

We had our 3 Exam today. I really like our instructor but I hate her exams! The exams are all short answer. Fine, but the questions are worded so that we cant understand what she is talking about or how to answer them. She had to explain a couple of the questions to us. There is at least one 8 point question that I think nobody is going to get correct unless she gives a lot of leway. This class is insanly hard to study for with the way she makes up her exams.

That sounds terrible, Anne!

I have to take my first lecture exam tomorrow. It's 75 questions -- multiple choice, T/F and fill in the blank. I'm pretty nervous. I feel like I'll be okay with blood, but I'm not confident about the immune system.

Immune was a hard chapter. I swear I cant remember a darn thing from the begining of this class now. There is so much to learn quickly I cant retain it all.

Specializes in Emergency Nursing.

Final on Urinary and Repro on Tuesday...then done and on to NURS classes!

Can someone help me with the Urinary? I am so confused about the nephron tubules and what is going on. Between the lecture and the book my head is spinning.

Is the PCT the main site for reabsorption and secretion?

Is water moving out of the DCT or being reabsorbed? I just dont get it.

This is way harder than pressures in Respiratory for me.

Im getting to my breaking point with this class. I can barely keep up with the lecture and Lab is way ahead of the units we are studying so we are all over the place. I dont know how Im going to find time to write a paper for this class. Just got the assignment on Thursday but I am studying for Tests and quizes all the time.

There are some really good podcasts on itunes and loads of youtube videos that can help with the urinary system.

Honestly, I found renal to be the most difficult section for me in all 3 of my classes (anatomy physiology and pathophysiology), but it is worth it to take the time to learn because F&E balance is so important and really is a part of patho in practically every disease.

I recommend tracing the filtrate through the nephrons and pay attention to which direction everything is flowing at various points. Important are NA+, H+, Cl-, H2O, K+ and HCO3. There are definitely other solubles that filter out and reabsorb, but those are really the biggies. Also, pay attention to R-A-A (renin, angiotensin and aldosterone) which may be in your hormones unit, but will be important in F&E.

Took my final for lecture today. Whew, it went better than I expected. Much better than my lab final. I think I'll make an A in lecture but I'm not sure about lab. In fact I doubt it unless he curves it. Ah, well still gotta stay positive. Lab is 1 credit and Lecture is 3 so on the positive side I got the A in the class that matters most. Not that Lab does not matter, just thinking about how it figures into my GPA.

If I had to do it all over again, I would not have taken it in the summer. Ahh well, its over. On to Micro in the fall. Good luck everyone!

Hi Mango, sounds like you did pretty well. We had our 2 Lab exam tonight. It was too hard to tell how I did. She is asking a lot of physiology questions in lab, not sticking to the Lab manual the way she is supposed to. I busted my butt trying to identify structures on the models and I get funky questions about the anatomy. I almost give up.
