Who's taking A&P II this summer? (2010)

Published

I'm two days away from being done with A&P I, and A&P II is a 6 week class online this summer.

Who will be taking A&P II as well?

I just finished tonight :D

I got an 88 on the last test (the reproductive system)...and what's even better is that I got an 82 overall! That's a B!

I also finished last night and got an A. Excused from the final exam next week but this class was a huge amount of work and I earned it.

Singdance are you already in the nursing program or do you still have to apply?

Anne - I'm already in the nursing program. I applied to colleges straight out of high school, and chose a school with a direct entry program. Last year was my first year, and the nursing curriculum starts this semester. I had orientation at the college of nursing Wednesday and yesterday, and classes start on Monday.

Oh, I see. So, you have about 2 years left than? I was just asking because at my school we take all the pre-reqs before we even apply to the program.

I have another 3 years.

My program is weird. It's a dual degree program between two schools: a 4 year liberal arts college and a 2 year college of nursing...

When you apply, you have to apply to both schools, and a joint admission committee looks over your app and makes a decision. If they accept you, then you are accepted into both schools, and in order to start the nursing curriculum, you have to complete a year of prereqs and liberal arts courses at the liberal arts school.

The second and third year are spent full time at the CON, and at the end of the third year, you graduate with an ASN and sit for the NCLEX (because the CON is it's own school that gives degrees etc).

The fourth year is back at the LAC full time finishing up the requirements for a BSN.

As I said, I wanted a direct entry program. I decided when I was a junior in high school that I wanted to do nursing, so most of the colleges I applied to had direct entry programs because I didn't want to risk going to college and spending 2 years trying to get into a program and then being rejected. Also, with direct entry programs, you start the nursing and clinicals earlier...in the second year rather than the third.

I have been reading through this thread because I start A&P I next week and Im pretty nervous. This is all really overwhelming..... Im also taking chem.

Im so happy. Just got my grade for A for A&P II and I got an A. YAY!!

Great job boohill!

It looks like we have some serious students in here, lots of A's.
