I'm two days away from being done with A&P I, and A&P II is a 6 week class online this summer.
Who will be taking A&P II as well?
Had the lecture final yesterday (mostly physio), lab final is tomorrow (mostly anatomy), I think I did well and am anticipating a good grade tomorrow.
My second micro lab (final) was a disaster though, I got a C and it's all my fault. The first exam was REALLY easy, but the second one wasn't, and I prepared for it like I expected it to be easy and I got 70%. We still have the unknown microbe identification and I got all the points for my lab manual so, if I get out of the class with a B I guess I'll be satisfied at this point. The irony is that I'm trending 98% in lecture...
Looks like I was a bit too over confident about my lecture final. Thought I aced it and got an A but I got a B. Well on the bright side, I also got a B for my lab final. I was worried it was going to be a C. So I'm satisfied. As much frustration as I had with this summer semester, I'm happy to walk away with a B in lab and lecture.
I got a 100 on my second lab!!
Hopefully I can keep this up and maintain a 100% in lab which is worth about 1/4 of my overall grade.
I still have to take the second lecture test...but I'm gonna study some more and eat dinner before I attempt it. I'm hoping that I'll do better than I did last time...much better.
Thats awesome singdance. I just got back my second Lab and I got a 93. Whew~ thats good enough for me, I just want to stay above 90. I was so ******, the Prof said she made it too easy! It was not easy and when I left I was very unsure of my grade.
Im noticing her comments about making the class too easy when she has too many A. This class is very hard and the people left in this class are working their tail off. We study for this class about 30+ hours a week. If that doesnt deserve an A, I dont know what does.
Thanks, Anne!
The reason I'm able to do it is that it's open book. I could probably be in the 80s without, but using the resources I have an getting 100s is better :)
I got a 71 on the lecture test. I'm actually really happy about it since I've been working so many hours at work and it hasn't left much time for me to do anatomy...but that changes now since I only work 17 hours next week and 15 the week after (half as much as I have been).
All done, waiting on grades.
Had the Micro lab final sections (procedures and identification and lab report), and aced both which takes a HUGE load off my mind. If I am lucky, my poor performance on the second lab practical will have minimal effect and I can get out with a A- or possibly even a low A.
This is good news, I actually lost sleep over this, it's one of the classes I have to get a 77% in to continue in the program.
Thats too bad Kedisty. At least you will know a lot of things and not have to spend as much time studying the second time aroundl. Be sure the second time the class will work for you. At my school A&P is only good for 5 years. Im glad it is the last thing I am taking because it gives me more time to do a transitional program later.
We have at least 1 nurse in our A&P class that is taking it because his credits expired and he is going back for a higher degree.
:clown:I took A&P for Medical assistant program. They say i'll need to take it again at community...credits don't transfer...;(
That sucks. I had to take A&P again as well. Took it 10 years ago for my paralegal degree. But I'm glad I took it again because this time around it was far more detailed. My para program just touched the surface so I would imagine that it might be similar with your MA program. You'll need to know a lot more to be a nurse. Good luck!
hi everyone. i'm taking a&p ii now. it's a 15 week semester. i got an a in a&p 1. so i'm working hard to get an a again. i'm not finding it to be too hard. i have a good professor who keeps things interesting. ill be finish with my medical assistant degree in december and i'm hoping to be in nursing school by january. most of my medical assistant credits should transfer over for nursing at some schools. i just applied to 6 nursing schools last week. just waiting on responses. good luck to everybody finishing up a&p this summer. i'll let you know what my final grade is. and we are just finishing up the digestive system and our final will be on the reproductive and urinary systems.

Hi Anne, don't give up! I know how you feel though. I was extremely frustrated with lab. Our prof was like that too, asked a lot of physio questions for the midterm. I was not prepared for that. Then we think ok so thats the format he'll use for final too. Nope. Top it off, we had no open labs. It was extremely frustrating. I personally would never take another science course in a summer semester again. I hate feeling unprepared. I'll have to wait till next week to get my lab grade. Hopefully, I pulled off a B in lab. Good Luck !
