WOW!! waiting for this to finally get started is like waiting to give birth!
Took net in Dec., Interviewed in Feb., Notified acceptance in April, Got letter today, that orientation is July 25th, First day of class is August 15th, Last day will be August 7th 2009.
That is like 9 months of prep work, and patiently waiting. But now I feel like I'm over the hump and Aug. is fast approaching and I can't wait. I'm sure that the year will go by fast, and this time next year I will be setting here waiting for last few weeks before graduation to be over!!
I will be attending a local vo tech school, full time days 8:00-3:30, clinicals will be in the early mornings and at night.
So whats your story??
hey everyone** i start vn school oct 6 and done next year in dec.09 !!i cant wait!! currently working has a cna at a ten bed hospice home. i did 7 months of vn school last year but i didn't make it through the pharmacology !! but out of 26 in are class only 6 are grad this sept. so i'm going to a different vn school!! i'm a mother of a 8 year old and i been taking pre- req for the rn but the waiting list here is two years!!so i'm just going to bridge to the rn program!!wish me luck!!good luck to all**
I start LPN school August 18th!!!! I'm so stinkin' excited and I just can't wait.
I still have to get my physical done, shots, tb, and CPR. I'm taking medical terminology this summer, just have two weeks left of that, then I have a break for about two weeks before nursing school starts!:heartbeat
i start lpn school on august 25th. i am really excited but also very nervous. i've been looking over my books, and some of the things that we will be doing scares me. also worrying about taking care of my kids and husband and things around the house. the first semester is suppossed to be the easiest, so hopefully i can get into a routine and stick with it.:nuke:
After two years of pre-reqs, I'm finally starting nursing school in the fall of 09( Gods will). Please pray for me guys.... I'll be working a full-time job from 8:30-4PM and will be at class 4 nights a week and e/o weekend for clinicals. I must work to pay bills, but I just hope my studying in between will be enough to pass the courses. Any way, I can't wait to start nursing school . Graduation is set for July 25, 2009

Yikes! Sounds like 6 hrs/night classes. Hopefully the instructors will let you out earlier to get some sleep. Good luck. School after work will give you the head-bobs (like that new Pepsi commercial, ha-ha). At least you have 7.5 hour-Bankers hours-days! That helps, but then it also puts you in the worst traffic times if you live in a big city.
Oh well, there ain't no easy way; and the important thing is you are on your way! In total, you will have a very efficient schedule and time until completion. Maybe it would be hard to plan it any better!! :yeah:
I remember how excited I was when I got accepted into VN school...and when I started, it seemed like forever before I was going to finish...but I knew that I was finally going somewhere, not just taking prerequisites....Fastforward today, I'm halfway done with the program and I restart school on Monday, I can't get over how time has flownnnnnn.....it will fly by for you too....and like many on this board, I'm going to bridge over as soon as I'm finished...GOOD LUCK 2 ALL
Well darn, just had a flood of applicants and they said I'm NOT in now!
Oh well, finish my pre-reqs this year for RN, and maybe next year.
At least I have the best instructors set up for next semester at CC for A&PI(!!) and some Developmental Psych class. Just lost about $115 and 2 weeks present value of $285, but I learned about a good Votech school.
The Lord must have been watching out for me, due to some unknown reason lurking around the bend. It was too many unknowns requiring faultless sequencing for my taste (I have an Engineering Statistics background). Safe is good. Opportunity is abound.
Now I can get my $1700 notebook, with 4 yr accident insurance included. Actually, my carma felt uneasy when got the 43% class increase earlier this week. It about sank my bubble then.
Met some good and important people too.
I'm starting to feel MUCH better now. Let's get ready to rumble!!
Count me in. I am starting August 27th. My orientation is August 11th.
I am pretty excited but really nervous too. I start the day after my little girl starts kindergarden. I have waited 12 years, since the birth of my son, to have some alone time while the kids are at school. I only have 1 day....LOL.
If anyone else is in PA and going to the Wilkes-Barre Technical school I would love to hear from you.
I start a 1+1 program on August 11 and I am SOOOOOOOOOOO excited! Although its not a trad ASN program I'm still siked to start this brigde program bc I'll be done with an RN in only 2 years. I've worked really hard to get to where I am at. Balancing school, family, and work had been tough. But I bet the hard part is just beginning. The "career plan" is to go straight into an RN-BSN program after graduation. I should have my RN by June 2010 and my BSN by May 2011. I'll take a couple years off to add to the family and then MAYBE get my MSN. Big dreams... we'll see how far I get. But, Im gonna take this day by day and just focus on getting my RN for now.
Congrats to everyone!!!!
Good luck!!!
