WOW!! waiting for this to finally get started is like waiting to give birth!

Took net in Dec., Interviewed in Feb., Notified acceptance in April, Got letter today, that orientation is July 25th, First day of class is August 15th, Last day will be August 7th 2009.

That is like 9 months of prep work, and patiently waiting. But now I feel like I'm over the hump and Aug. is fast approaching and I can't wait. I'm sure that the year will go by fast, and this time next year I will be setting here waiting for last few weeks before graduation to be over!!

I will be attending a local vo tech school, full time days 8:00-3:30, clinicals will be in the early mornings and at night.

So whats your story??

I start on August 4th. I am so excited and nervous. I graduate in July 09.

Tomorrow is my last day at work. I have been laid off to due a reduction in force. It's a little depressing because I was the money maker of the family, but being able to go back to school is something that I have been wanting to do for so long. It all works out in the end. ;)

Hee Hee! Switched gears quick in Pre-RN and got in top Votech school. Start on-line A&P I/II Aug 11, 16 week into 8 weeks (required for PN program);

Level 1, 5-10PM, Mo-Th, 10/13/08 to 01/29/09

Level 2-8, 5-10PM, 3 days/week + 8AM-6PM Sa-Su every other w/e, -2/07/09-12/17/09.

Register 2 weeks after saw counselor, while going to CC Biology class 14 hrs w/labs per week and working 40 hrs. All those 3 hrs/night rest paid off!

Start my learning curve treating patients, limiting liabilities, and making living wages. How sweet it is!

:anpom: Congrats hunny=]

:banghead:I got my acceptance letter a week ago and I have a million things to do now( shots, physicals, ect.). Class doesn't start till Aug. 25th but we have registration Aug.1st and orientation Aug. 5th. I'm so excited but the wait to get my letter was awful and now the wait till class starts is even worse. I am sure that in a few months I will be wishing for nothing to do but till then:bugeyes:

Specializes in Dialysis.

I start Aug. 25!!!! I have a two day orientation July 30-31. Soooo nervous and excited!

I'm going to El Centro. Is anyone else in my class?? :nuke:

Congrats to all of you!!!!! We're in for a ride!

Nursetob2 your schedule sounds like mine. I will be attending Calhoun Community College in Alabama.

It took a year to take all of the prerequisites and am in A&P second half now. I hope I can keep up with the pace once nursing classes start.

hey Beverlynbama I am at Calhoun as well. Nice to finaly meet someone in the LPN program at Calhoun everyone so far has been in the RN program When are you doing your CPR class, or have you already had it? Hope A&P is going well I finished last semester, good luck!

Nursetpb2, I did my CPR class with Red Cross last month. I applied for the RN program but they don't count the class this summer toward points and I would still need to take Microbiology.

Nursing students sure do have a lot to do before classes even start.

My story is similar...took teas test in feb...interviewed in april ....accepted in may...orientation was june 9 ....have anatomy homework over summer....chapters 1-5 in math and chapters 1-5 in lpn handbook...school starts aug 25...graduation june 18 09.....heard the program is rough but need to try....good juck to everyone:up:

I am also beginning LPN classes in August. I have already taken psychology and the finishing up anantomy. So all i will have to take are the actual nursing classes. I am excited and scared. My process to get to this point started over a year ago and now the time has come. But I am ready. Good luck to everyone!:yeah:

OUCH!!

I was ready to pay for my online AP I/II required class last week, and it was delayed until today.

Raised it from $400 to $570! 43% increase!!

Feel like I had a haymaker in the breadbasket, and couldn't take a deep breath until now. Good thing they let me pay half and owe half to 9-11-08, or I couldn't have paid for my books.

It was real economical before, but it took me walking around the campus for a couple of hours before I could pay after deceptive negotiations from State Workers playing Good Cop/Bad Cop today. Not a good way to start off in good faith. I may bail and go back to CC if this shenanigans keeps up. I still have my excellent instructor schedules for Fall at CC. THAT'S a known commodity. I'll just lose a couple of hundred dollars, but be much wiser. :hlk:

I started LPN school last September and I just want to tell you guys to STUDY STUDY STUDY....as is if you don't already know that, huh? But many days you may feel like giving up....DON'T... Just remember and look for that light at the end of the tunnel. Stay focused. There will be many player haters who wish they could be in your shoes, people will want to hang out, people will call you to gossip.....don't fall into this trap. Just think to yourself, "Can these people take my exam for me?" You know they can't so they are not even worth your time. Friends come and go but TRUE friends will be happy for you and want you to succeed.

BLESSINGS to all of you in your LPN program!!!
