Who hires new grads rn in la, ca

Hey guys! I'm a new nurse currently searching for work. Most of the jobs I apply for state I need at least one year experience. Can someone please direct me towards the correct direction for rn job in la, ca! That will hire me without the experience.

That's one of the toughest job markets for new grads especially. I hope you do find a job, but if not, you may need to apply to several other places, including out of state. You can also still apply for the jobs that state you need one year experience...sometimes people get lucky. I hope it works out for you!

City of Hope has an excellent new grad program. If you are interested in Oncology then it may be of interest to you. It is about 30 minutes outside of LA. They do require that you have a bachelor's degree.

You're a little late to this party. The southern California job market has been saturated with new grads for the last couple of years if this board is any indication. Plan to either look a loooong time, apply to LTC and other non-acute facilities or move outta state.

Good luck to you. Gonna need it and lots of hard work.

Oh my, OP you are really gonna have to scramble for a job. I just read your profile and see you graduated in 2013. So now there are 2 or 3 classes of newer grads looking for new grad jobs. Have you been able to work in any healthcare settings while you studied to pass NCLEX? CNA perhaps? It sure helps to know someone that knows your work that will be able to put in a good word for you.

Think about moving out of state to get a year's experience then you apply for jobs that new grads can't get in California.

before you move, i would try to make a direct connection with facilities (not just hospitals) you are interested in. i got a job in So. Cal with no experience (ASN new graduate) within a week after passing boards. sitting on your ass and sending out resumes isn't going to get you far... this only works for EXPERIENCED RNs. don't relocate until you exhausted ALL of your options. there are jobs...

Depends on the facility. Many will turn you away just to tell you to apply online.

Unfortunately if you did graduate in 2013 you will have a tough road ahead of you. You are considered stale. I remember when I interviewed for my med surg job, the panel commented that being out of the hospital for over 6 months was detrimental to an applicant. At that time I had zero hospital experience although I had a few months of correctional experience but it didn't matter to the panel, I was considered almost stale. Fortunately, I impressed them enough to get the job.

I don't plan to move out of state!

If you do not intend to relocate to secure your first nursing job, you might be unemployed for a very long time. To be blunt, the deck is stacked heavily against you because you graduated in 2013, but still have no paid work experience as a nurse.

You are in southern CA. I know I sound like I am beating a dead horse, but the nursing employment market in the greater Los Angeles area has been overly saturated for the past several years. As previously mentioned, you are competing against the graduating classes of 2014 and 2015 for jobs. And clearly, the class of 2015 has the advantage over an old-new grad from 2013.

HR managers and recruiters are regularly suspicious of new nurses who graduated several years ago, but are without paid nursing experience. You are in the very unfortunate situation of no longer being regarded as a new grad, although you have no experience.

If you still do not plan to relocate, you may want to apply in person at every single home health company, SNF, nursing home, LTAC, hospice, rehab facility, private duty agency, methadone clinic, doctors' office, psychiatric facility, and group home located within 50 miles of your home. Be willing to commute and sacrifice. Apply during business hours while professionally dressed since this approach might result in an on-the-spot interview. Good luck to you.

Im currently work as aCNA in the Er at habor general for the past 15 years . The county has a freeze on application, therefore I'm waiting until the item opens. My manger promise to hire me once the freeze stop, but we don't know when that will happen. Until then I'm applying everywhere!
