:nurse:I'm preparing for my nclex but undecided where to review? Would like your opinions/experiences regarding the following review centers: Kaplan, Evoke-ATII, URC? Which is better? Or do you recommend other review center(s).Thanks

sorry, but with all of the issues cropping up almost on a daily basis from manila, i would be very leary of any of them, until proven to me otherwise.sad to say.and there is absolutely no reason that you need a review center if you graduated fairly recently. you should be able to do the reivew on your own.
sad to say.

i am so 100% agree with suzanne. it is sad to know what is going there in philippines. i don't know how much is the cost of review centers there in pinas. i did a self review for six months. i didn't attend a review center here in the u.s. because i don't have time, and i find it really expensive too. i review a couple of nclex-rn review book. i passed in one take, and the computer stopped at question number 80. find a review book that actually you feel comfortable with. go to national bookstore or any bookstore who sell nclex-rn review book.if you have relatives in the u.s. ask them to get it for you. don't rush in taking nclex-rn, make sure you study, and enjoy your life at the same time. i know many people who rush taking it right after graduation and they didn't make it. good to you :-)

you can drop by at Cand E located at Quezon Ave, just near Hi-top Supermart or you may check the books at any National bookstores, I bought my new saunders for P798 I think. God bless

To those who will take the NCLEX soon, follow SUZANNE4's plan. There have been positive results.

Hi, ***** is also good, I enrolled there for my nclex review though I haven't taken the exam yet I believe that I learned a lot from the lecturers given the circumstance that I graduated a decade ago.

stick to kaplan &/or saunders (using suzanne's program). you'll learn just as much, more in fact, from the strategies in those books. there is no "easy" way to pass - you have to study for it plain & simple. the longer you've been out of school (or if you've studied a non-usa style course) the longer you'll need.

Saunders is a good book, Makes no difference if you have tourist visa as retrogression is on at the moment and you can't adjust your status, check out the international forum plenty of info there

hi, and welcome to allnurses! local license is not required to take nclexrn in some states. you might want to visit www.ncsbn.org for the list of the state board of nursing..you can browse all the state board of nursing and find out their requirements before applying and taking the licensure exam. so you hate mosby, which mosby reviewer did you have? have you consider other review book? i heard people liked saunders, lippincott, davis, and others. i bought kaplan review book and their questions online and after finishing that, and i studied mosby's illustrated review for nclexrn, ( i think it's plain and simple, but it did helped a lot). how long should you study for the exam? i suggest you should start as soon as possible. although i didn't go for review center, i did a self study for six months i passed the exam in june of 2006, on my first take. but i beleive that the more you study now, and the more you do practice questions, the greater chance of you passing..the exam is very hard, and should not be taken lightly. i suggest you should plan your review. there are many previous post here about nclexrn review that you can read, and i am sure it will help you a lot. goodluck to you!
