Where O' Where are the wise ones?

It's feeling kinda lonely without some of our fearless leaders and their sage advice. Is any one else feeling this way?

"where are the wise ones"? .......peruse the site. They are EVERYwhere. Filter out the bad, glom on to the good. That is my best advice.

I think that everyone needs the opportunity to step back and take a break, especially with how much nastiness and rudeness is being spewed lately. Unfortunately, I think it's time for me to join those on sabbatical, and I don't know if I'll be back. I've found AN to be quite a distraction from other things that I should be doing, and this is kind of the impetus that I need to convince me it's time. I do know that if I come back, I won't be renewing my paid subscription- quite honestly, at this point I think my view of what a nurses' forum should be and what the forum has become are not congruent. Some of those on break are the ones whose posts I found the most informative and enlightening, and they are part of the reason I've stuck around for so long.

I'm sorry to hear this. I don't know you well, but the posts I've read from you are informative and well-written. I hope you'll stay and be one of our "wise ones".

Thank you, Viva Ladyfree and Whispera. I have a lot going on in my personal life and it's been a few crazy short staffed weeks at work, so coming on here has been a little overwhelming on top of everything else. On the bright side, I'm getting ready to head to the airport to catch a plane to a tropical paradise. Maybe a week away from everything is what I need and I can come back to life, work, and AN recharged and refreshed when the vacation is over.

Well, I may be jet lagged and in desperate need of sleep, but a week away from life and work seems to have done the trick. The extreme pampering I gave myself probably didn't hurt either. Why oh why do massages and pedicures have to be expensive? I could use one at least twice a week!
