When does weekend shift diff start/end for night shift

Hey everyone! I was just wondering for those who work night shift and get a weekend shift differential, when does weekend shift start and end for your hospital? Is Friday night considered weekend at your hospital? Is Sunday night? Also, if you don't mind, how much is your night shift differential, and how much is your weekend shift differential?

Our night shift and weekend shift differentials are $3 each.

Re: Friday Nights - if you work 7p-7a - tell your Mgr. that 7 of those hours are "Saturday" and you should be compensated like the rest of the weekend workers.

for us or shift diff starts at 19:00 and the difference is $1.00 :uhoh3:

Our night shift diff is $5, and weekends is $2. Holidays are time and a half for entire shift....(for the night shift, it's the night before a holiday). We do however have an incentive to do extra shifts. In addition to time and a half for the last 8 hours of the 4th shift, and double time for the whole 12 of the fifth, we get $100 for days and $200 for nights for each extra shift.

We get a 10% diff for 3-11 shift and 15% for 11-7. Weekends and holidays are considered no different than any other day. Lovely, huh?

For my hospital,7-11pm is $3/hr then 12pm-7am is $4/hr then weekend is $3/hr.Weekend starts friday 7pm.I dont even know why we dont get paid for 3pm-7pm but i think some hospitals do,anybody?

Our weekend differential is 10% and it's for Friday, Saturday, Sunday (day and night shift). So if you work Friday day/night, Saturday day/night, Sunday day/night you still get the differential for each shift. We also have a weekend program in which all the people on that program get paid time and a half to work every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Therefore we never have to work weekends if we don't want to, yaye!

Our night shift differential is 18% and it's for the entire 12 hours of night shift, 7p - 7a.

Our "weekend" is 11p on Friday through 7a on Monday.

Evening/night diff is $4/hr from 7p-7a every day.

Weekends are $0.75/hr

If we are REALLY short staffed, we SOMETIMES get incentive or double incentive to pick up extra shifts....$6.50/12.50 per hr in addition to hourly/diff. When we are really, really, really short staffed like we were last weekend...they will often offer, in addition to incentive pay, restaurant gift cards or extra $$. Last week it was $50 for a 4 hour shift, $75 for 8, and $100 for 12. These "extras" are not usually hospital wide, only for specified units, usually ICU, TELE, ED.

But here is my idea....I do realize paying out all this incentive wrecks the budget but...say for instance you need 6 nurses to have your ED be fully staffed, w/ charge nurse taking no pts (which is our normal routine when full staffed). 6 are needed but you only have 3. That leaves 1 triage, 1 staff nurse, and 1 charge nurse=2 nurses to manage all beds (1 being charge) and 1 nurse for triage...triage nurse helps nurses in back as much as possible but those peeps just keep coming!

Anyways...in support of the nurses who are working short staffed, doing double or more of the regular work load, usually at their regular pay as it was their scheduled shift....if they are offering all this moola to entice nurses to come in and no one takes up the offer...couldn't/shouldn't some of that money for that unfilled super extra incentive hole be divided up amongst the nurses who ARE working as a 'thanks for your hard work'??

Any opinions on that plan?? Does it sound too far fetched?

Our night diff is $3 from 1900-2300 then $4 2400-0700.w/e is $3.

WOW!!! I work nights and our weekend begins on Fri 1900 to Monday 0700. We get shift diff-but NO weekend diff. We are expected to work six weekend nights a schedule (which is a 6 week schedule). There are constantly issues with low staff on weekends and complaints when someone has more than their required six. We do have a lot of freedom when it comes to requesting days off. But we must do our six weekends!!:sniff:

Interesting how things vary so much. We don't get a weekend diff but we do have a weekend program for those who are willing to work every weekend, which is a HUGE diff. As a new nurse, it was an increase of $14 an hour for me. The standard night diff is 3.50 an hour and it starts at 7 PM. I stared weekends a month ago and I LOVE it.

I am just curious-Those of you that get such a nice weekend shift diff (which I think is awesome and deserved)-Are you part of a union? Our hospital is not unionized but another in our community is and they too get a weekend shift diff.
