I personally would love to be a correctional nurse:smokin:.Not as much pressure and BS. I feel comfortable in that setting, especially being a former correctional officer.I knew there was no way I could work in a traditional hospital setting. So what field of nursing is calling you?
I've given it some thought and as of the moment I think I want to be in the ER or OR. I'm an EMT right now, and love the challenge it brings with not knowing what is around the next corner. I start pre-nursing in September and the actual nursing part in the fall of 2009 with hopes to graduate in May of 2011. I'm definitely going to keep my mind open through the clinical's though!
I knew that I wanted to be an Ob nurse or an ICU nurse. So back in March (I just graduated this May) I started sending out resumes for those depts. I had my mind made up that I would search and search till I found something. Low and behold my first interview was for ICU and the shift that I was hoping for (7p-7a X3day/wk)!!! Im so excited!!! Now I just have to pass my boards...on June 13th...its getting closer...and I am getting more nervous as the days grows nearer.
