Hi, I was wondering about some of those weird names that you've probably encountered in L&D and PP. I remember when I had my maternity rotation a couple of weeks ago, one of the nurses said she remembers a patient that named her child Placenta. I couldn't believe it that some child has to live his life named after disgusting afterbirth!
Had a doctor years ago tell me that he had delivered twin girls to a mrs. hogg; named them Ima and Ura. He thought it was hilarious!
I once heard of a mom who named her child Nosmoking.....said it was the last thing she saw before her c/s. I also had a teen mom who named her child Margarita......(sad). I learned from many years working with new parents how to keep a straight face.
Margarita is actually a very common Hispanic name.
I had a Plastika Noriega (pronounced PlastikaNoreeeka)ChickenA' (Sheekeena) looked like chicken A
Tinea Capita....sheesh ringworm?
My sis worked at the dept of social services and said the names follow the soaps....Kayla, Kim, Hope etc.
Of course my hubby's birth certificate read BABY BOY ___ until he went in the Army at age 23, and needed to pick up a birth certificate. We had to go in and change his name!
Are you a Days of Our Lives Fan? If you remember the character Kimberly Brady (patsy pease)...I actually am very close friends with her sister Kesley, who was never in show business. We were friends for about 6 months before she just casually mentioned this and I about fell out on the floor.
Forgot about the twins we had recently:Faith Charity

Don't remember if I already posted about these names in this thread, but...
Years ago our unit had triplets who were supposed to be all girls per ultrasound, and the parents were going to name them Faith, Hope, and Charity. Well, they ended up being two girls and a boy. New names?
Faith, Hope, and Charlie.
There's a person who live close to me whose first and middle name is Tess Tickle! I would kill my parents if they named me something like that!
I went to preschool with Skipper Walker. We always called him Skipper Walker Talker.
I went to high school with the Do kids: John, Jane, Uyen (win)
Chiropractor missed her calling: Dr. Sue Yu
The most unusal name I've seen so far was..Bacardi (like the rum). I've also seen the middle name of Seamus (not knowing that it was a Irish name until many people on this board have informed me of.....I was saying it the way it looks) I'm from the south forgive me!!!!
