Any time someone says "that was the most complicated discharge you've ever done" I get a bigger, more complex, more complicated one within a month. Thanks for the kudos, but PLEASE don't say it out loud!!

Lately it's been the Real Housewives of (insert city of choice). Between families manipulating staff and staff manipulating other staff....it's just a hot mess.

RE: Candians wearing scrub dresses..... No---well, some do. Personal choice. Those are the old-style scrub dresses that I'm sure many of the hospitals still have kicking around. Great costume for the video though! RNAnnjeh

I have seen this poem circulating for quite a few years. The poem is more about the loss of control and ability to care for oneself as we age rather than taking a slap at nurses. It is a call to all of us to remember those who we provide care for...once they were young, independent and full of life. Now, they rely on someone else for everything; a place to live, a bed to sleep in, meals, recreation and sometimes bodily functions. Perhaps this poem is a reminder for nurses to look beyond the tasks of our day-to-day work and look deeper to see the ME in all of our patients/clients. We will all be the ME in this poem someday. Hi there, After highschool I went straight to university in the recreation program. I had fun that year, didn't do well and quit after that year. I took a year off and looked into applying to college for nursing. I went back to my highschool to get some help from the guidance counsellor and to find out how to take the biology course I was missing.The guidance counsellor told me that I would probably make a good nurse, but I just wasn't smart enough. Well, here I sit, 18 years later with a master's degree in nursing. Who's not smart enough now?Moral of the story: just like everyone else has said, do what you want.
