  2. How is the program???? I'm sooo nervous to apply !!!! I'm interested in post masters FNP !!!!
  3. Hi everyone!!!! I have a few questions to ask of you all!! I formerly worked with this employer (3 years ago) and I am curious to figure out if I am elegible for rehire... I worked there for 5 years (per diem) and had no issues up until the final year! In the end, I voluntarily chose to leave on a level 4 corrective action due to not "meeting my per diem commitment". Honestly I was an excellent employee, no issues but management started to crack down on me. I honestly felt completely shocked and one day I went in to work, and I was not on the assignment. I then met with my union rep and manager (I had previously done this a few months before to have an plan in place, etc) Anyways, I am curios to know what the BEST way is to find out my rehire status. I am sure it is at the discretion of the manager...but I honestly want to apply again. I was utterly shocked and hurt but I don't know what my approach should be? Call HR?? And would they even disclose this information ??anyone out there been in this situation?? I keep reading all these forums of how they discriminate and target their employees 😖 Also, is there a way I should go about talking to a manager or union rep to see if I am NOT elegible, could it even be "challenged". How aboug applying at another region...? Would it still be the same if it's the same organization of is this only specific to that HR REGION??? I really fedl i deserve another chance. Other states are not as strict I hear, which makes it that much more upsetting. Pleases any professional advice would truly be appreciated. 😘 God Bless
  4. Hi all, So, I'm contemplating leaving my "home" L/D, which I have worked in for the last 9 years (Postpartum prior for 2 years) and I am DEBATING venturing out into ER. Has anyone out there been in this situation, or can offer some advice???? My previous background does not include med surg. but I have a great opportunity to train in ER, which I have always had an affinity for. There is definitely already an "ER-like" fast-paced atmosphere/element in L/d, which I enjoy. Of course, I am comparing apples and oranges here, but how hard is it the first few months??? What types of skills, assessments should I brush up on...L/D is specialized and limited so it is VERY daunting, but ultimately, if I do not pursue this potential opportunity, I dont think I will later on in my career. Any ER nurses out there, PLEASE, any words of wisdom and guidance would be awesome. I know any new area is DAUNTING...What were the things you all did as a new nurse in the ED. I believe the ratio at my facility is 1:4, but it is a very busy unit. DOES ANYONE OUT THERE KNOW A NURSE THAT ROTATED TO ER FROM L&D ..... Thank you!!! ANy words of advice would be supportive!

  9. nurse79 replied to nurse79's topic in General Students
It is very nervewrecking....considering the time, effort, and obvious benefits of receiving an awards..to go this long without hearing anything is TORTURE. Thats great for those who have received feedback! And best wishes to those {{biting nails}} that are STILL anxiously awaiting correspondence. Stay positive! This is a great forum. If anyone that hasn't heard anything yet..if something changes PLEASE updated us! Thank you sooo much!!

She was in line to send it by mail on the 8th but got out of line to fax it instead! Crazy....I guess she thought based on the app info it would have been late if not received by mail that day so she faxed instead. Idk. But good luck to all!!

Really!! Thats horrible!! It seems like they are very unorganized. The only reason she faxed it was bc online it said to receive app by the 8th of Feb but after she faxed it (1 hour late) she called and they said it just needed to be postmarked by the 8th. She's sooo frustrated. I don't want to tell her but I guess we'll see. They should be more clear on their wishes though
  15. For previous applicants, my friend is freaking out because she faxed all her info for the NELRP 2011 but forgot the online portion said it needed to be received by 5pm EASTERN time, she was like an hour late per fax. Do you think they will take her app still???? Thanks all. It helps to read previous info as well!!!
