What's the weirdest baby name?

Hi, I was wondering about some of those weird names that you've probably encountered in L&D and PP. I remember when I had my maternity rotation a couple of weeks ago, one of the nurses said she remembers a patient that named her child Placenta. I couldn't believe it that some child has to live his life named after disgusting afterbirth!

actually, there are some wines that would make quite nice names; ruby cabernet, with the cab as the middle name, shiraz, pronounced syrah, claret, which could be modified to spell clarette; and then of course stein, which is a recognized surname and has been used as a first name. on the whole, i think the red wines have nicer names, although i would never dream of naming my children after one; have people checking my kids out for signs of fas...

There was a woman in my local paper whose first name is Aquanetta. I think that's probably the greatest name ever!

And let's not forget my friend-of-a-friend, the unfortunately named Rotunda. Who, well, looked like her name...

Working in PP, i've seen some interesting names. One mom named her baby MECONIUM. Oh yes, Meconium.

Another mom named her baby Lyric. I thought that was sort of sweet.

I had a patient who confounded the medical records staff member when she came to do paperwork with our new mom.

"And, what would you like to name your beautiful baby girl?" Medical Records staff

"Oh, the nurses already named her" New Mom

"Really?" Medical Records staff with a puzzled look at me standing by the bed.

"Yeah. On that paper they named her Vageena (lady parts) Female (Femallee)." New Mom

"Mrs. New Mom, that's part of our records. It means the baby was born lady partslly and is a girl." Me

"OK. I like it anyway. Her name is Vageena Femallee." New Mom

"Are you sure?" Medical Records staff

I like the name Lyric. I saw an episode of Intervention and the guy was a musician with a daughter named Lyric and I thought that was the prettiest name.
