I'm going to call and ask next week, but do you wear scrubs on non-lab/clinical days, or just street clothes?
Someone made the mistake of wearing flip flops to our cadaver lab. Well when the scalpel ended up at attention in her foot she learned why closed toed shoes was a rule. It might suck when its warm but its for a reason.
OUCH!!!!! We have had pee and other bodily fluids spill in labs. Yea closed toe shows and a change of clothes for those days.
I never had a dress code for class, and thought that this thread was a little silly.
I get that a lot.
Mostly I just wondered if people had to wear uniforms, scrubs, dress code stuff, etc. Especially for the first day. Like, if you don't come in the right clothes you get sent home kind of hardass stuff. The older I get, the more I like the idea of uniforms, for work and daily life. Mine is jeans and long-sleeved shirts. I wear a lot of smashed banana, so the cheaper my togs, the less I worry about them being stained.
It's not a silly question, my school has a dress code. I just think its a lot easier to just make scrubs mandatory. that way everyone is equal and you dont have to worry about what you wear. it looks more professional too. Everyone is always excited to wear scrubs to school because while they are learning and doing skills, it makes them feel like the real deal!

In my Classes that had labs like Chem, Organic Chem, Micro, A&P 1+1 we couldn't wear opened toe shoes or shorts but for obvious reasons. All our classes where no chemicals and stuff are involved we can.
