Hello!

I just got accepted at Barry University and the University of Miami with a 3.0 GPA. IM GOING TO BARRY!!!! It also all depends on how you did in your science courses. You can have the greatest GPA but if you blew your sciences than that becomes an issue.

My GPA was 4.0, but my school has a point system. I CLEPed 3 classes and they were treated as Cs.

I'm one of those who only did something like a 2.7 during high school (boy! that was a long time ago!)... started a junior college for the first time in my life at age 40 (after becoming widowed with two kids ages 4 & 7) and kept a 4.0 in all my classes up to being accepted in the nursing program. I've so far gotten through the first two semester with a 4.0 (knock on wood on that one!) but for someone without any past experience in the medical profession, I'm simply swimming through this fast-paced program still trying to figure out just what nursing is all about! Haha! Have been told by nurses in clinicals, though, that's it's after we graduate and get jobs there that we THEN get our real learning! I hope they are right!

I'm worried now because I only have a 3.34 and I just finished my pre reqs. The only thing that will help me is if I do real well on my pre assessment test. They use both GPA and that test to determine who gets accepted. I guess we will find out in about a month :(

Specializes in Step-down ICU.

Does anyone know how they treat second degree BSN students? Do they use the GPA they had when they graduated or what? or do they take Science course GPA? I maybe a second degree nursing student so I am wondering if anyone knows?? Let me know. Thanks!

Mine was 2.8 but I had lots of experience so they let me in. I had not been in school for >20 years. I finished my ADN program with a 3.2, my BSN with a 3.6 and MSN with 4.0. It finally started making sense and coming together.

3.6, I will start in August.
