  1. Hi all! Not sure if im posting this in the right place but I wasnt sure where else. Ive been a nurse for 4 years now and I work in South Florida. Currently im a ped hem/onc nurse and thats what ive been doing since I graduated. I make $26/hr and I feel like thats nothing compared to what ive seen other nurses making in other states. I have a friend in Cali making $80/hr working per diem. Her husband made 150K last year working his regular 3 12hr shifts without ever working overtime! She also said that each year she gets a $4 raise. My raises are not even .50 cents!!!! I had my 6 month review at my new job this past week and I saw that the max I will EVER be ablet to make is $40/hr. Thats depressing!!! Needless to say, now hubby and I are looking at Cali because I dont want to keep making this little money knowing I could be making a whole lot more somewhere else. I guess my question is, what is the common hourly rate for nurses in cali? are the nurses treated much better? Any insight would be greatly appreciated! thank you :)
  2. Im in the same boats.....I paid $24for a precious moments top and i was like thats it...no more.....Uniform city has a sale right now....i bought a holloween top and a christmas for $10 each. This weekend I went to Wal-mart and got 2 Disney tops that were $15 each. Thats pretty good considering they are usually at least $25.
  3. you have to wait until it says successfully delivered then you do the "trick" good luck
  4. well then its too soon.....it still says ready for delivery on mine. The waiting is very painful!
  5. How soon do you think I can try this? I just took it an hour ago and I tried it and it doesnt let me re-register but do you think its too soon? My hubby says its accurate because the test is computerized but im not sure.....please give me some insight!
  6. im a current student at Barry and Barry has an ongoing enrollment meaning there is no deadline :) Hope all goes well
  7. Well Im about to start clinicals next month. They have a list and you list your 3 top choices and that is how ots determined. You dont always get your #1 choice but they try. They are pretty nice over there. As for mu schedule....ITS VERY BUSY. Get all the things you want done now!!!!!! Talk to me again in 1 month and I will tell you how im holding up LOL!!!!!
  8. I am finishing my 1st semester in the AO program. This semester was not too bad but it does require alot of studying. I hear they are changing the program for the incoming class for AO 2007 so im not sure as to how it will be structures. The AO advisor is Cris Steffey...just contact her and she'll help you. Shes pretty hard to get a hold of though because she is also an instructor. I wish you luck with everything. I LOVE barry. Its a great school and im sure you will love it too
  9. Hey everyone! I start Pathophysiology in less than 2 weeks and they keep telling us to learn the drugs in categories rather than individually. I was wondering if any of you had a website or a list that had the drugs in their respectful categories? Thanks
  10. I just started Nursing school this past January and last week came down with an upper respiratory infection. I guess I look forward to much more!!!!!
  11. HELP!!!!!!!!! It sounds horrifying. I am in an accelerated program and this upcoming summer we have to take Patho/Pharm 1 from May 8th- June 16th and Patho/Pharm 2 from June 19- July 24. Lets also keep in mind that I am also taking 4 other classes. I hear people in my program saying how Patho is the hardest course they ever had to take and how they had a hard time doing it in 3 months and they dont see how its supposed to get done in 1. Has anyone been through this and if yes HOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for listening and answering!!!
  12. I have a guy in my class and all he does is repeat what the professor says. He used to be a medical student in cuba which is great for him and now hes in nursing school in florida. Geeeeeeeez but that does not give him the right to just repeat everything the treacher says. Maybe if he would say new information it would not be so annoying. Also what he does is let say he does not know the answer he will wait until someone or the teacher says the answer and then say "yup yup huh huh thats right..." I have to listen to this for 6 HOURS!!!!!! Oh and how about we have another girl who believes that everything should be handed to her. First day of class she made it a point to tell everyone that she had to mortgage her house in order to go through nursing school. And everytime she's told that she has to get something she says "you would think that would be part of your tuition with all that money you pay". Granted tuition is high but hey youre not the only one!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. I am so sorry for your loss. My deepest sympathy for you and your family. He is in a much better place and where there is no suffering. God bless you
