Let's do something fun! Everybody on allnurses.com has a very interesting and unique username. What is the back story of your username? Mine is just like it states, "Life's a Journey!"
Mine is from my family name and my husband's family name. He told me that I did not have to change my name when we tied the knot. So, I add on his 15 letters long name to my short name. No one can pronounce it, spell it, or write it. Everyone is intimidated by my name. You are only seeing a part of it. I love to use it in different passwords and codes because no one else will even have that combo. Fun topic!!!
Mine is exactly what it seems to be -- I'm a Grandma that rides a Harley!
I'll be 50 in June, and already have 6 grand babies, why yes we are Catholic, why do you ask? LOL
I didn't get my motorcycle license until I was 46, facing that huge challenge helped me get the nerve to go back to college.
Fun thread :-)
I lived in the Kakamega region of Kenya one fall for about a month, thus the name. "Mama" is what I was called by those who knew my daughter, and by Kenyans who were quite a bit younger than me. As a side note---I have a namesake in the village where I lived. She was a twin and her mama had named both of her daughters the same name. I was asked at church by the pastor and the babies' mama if I would give one of my names to one of the twins so that they would not have the same name. It was quite an honor, and a very humbling experience!
Not sure if I replied to this post before, as I see the OP was a long time ago.
I chose my screen name "vintage mother" because that's what I felt I was at the time I 1st considered pursuing a nursing degree.
I felt like an old mom choosing nsg as a 2nd career.
But now, I feel different. I should consider a new screen name.

"K" is for my daughter's first name initial. The rest comes from when she introduced me to her 1st grade teacher as my "mommy nurse."
