What type of nursing do you want to specialize in?

I would like to do Pediatrics, probably in a doctor's office.

"No! I don't wanna get a shot! I don't wanna get a shot!" ;)

How about you?

:wideyed:

L&D or ER

Specializes in cardiac, emergency.

i'm currently working in icu but i'd like to work a year or two in ER, another one in endocrinology, maybe a year in pulmonary care...

I have 82 days left and right now I just want to GET a job and I'll take whatever is available and offered :) I feel like if I go in with a preconceived thought of where I WANT to be I won't be able to experience where I AM as easily.

As a former Paramedic and Navy Corpsman, I am looking forward to returning to emergency medicine but being 44 years old I am looking toward the future. I am planning to work my way up to a Master's degree in Nursing Administration.

I'm thinking Peds Trauma

I want to start off in NICU or L&D (but will take anything I can get once I graduate) .. then eventually get a Master's degree. NNP or WHNP.

Specializes in CRNA.

Ultimate goal is CRNA so CVICU.

Specializes in ICU.

Psych

I would love to do ER.

I will have the IBCLC credential so I will be in the mother baby units :)

Specializes in Critical Care.

No idea. Only in my first semester of nursing school so I'm eager to get a taste of as many areas as possible and am keeping my mind wide open. I have a few areas that I'm naturally attracted to but in this job market I feel like it would be foolish to have my heart set on any one department.

Still taking pre-req's so this can change but in order is:

1. L&D

2. NICU

3. Neuro... my father has Parkinson's Disease so this one is more personal.

Was considering Pediatrics but I am pretty sure I will end up with 500 adopted children or in prison when I see cases of abuse and neglect.
