When I was in nursing school we were always told to get our own Liability Insurance. I heard some people talking about Nursing Service Organization (www.NSO.com) Is that a good one?
What type of Liability insurance do you have?
I need some tips on this subject.
Thanks!

I'm a student and I have NSO as well, based on recommendations here. For students, I think it's something like $29 per year.

checkwith your homeowners, car insurance, etc as they may offer a good deal for multiple policies.

i don't have any. i am covered by the hospital..... UNLESS i do something so completely stupid that deviates away from policy. i was told by my school that it is a waste of money and not necessary, and now my job is telling me the same thing.

I was told early in my career not to get Liability Insurance. Most hospitals typically will cover you for a million dollars. I was told in a recent conference that they look for who ever has the deepest pockets so if you have insurance they will go after you. Granted like the above poster said if I do something incredibally stupid then yeah the hospital would probally fire me anyways.

I own a home. My insurance agent added a professional liability rider to my homeowners policy. Not the greatest coverage but dirt cheep. It's worth looking into as your primary Liability Insurance or as an additional layer of protection.

I have NSO. I don't trust any hospital to cover me..
that's your opinion. I believe the deepest pockets theory, they don't care where they get the money from as long as they get it.
