Something to understand what nurses think about re the Current News and their opinions!

The point I was referring to was your claim that conservatives were using Ashely as a martyr when George Floyd is also being used as a martyr. Both most likely would be alive if they were not committing crimes . An exception would be George Floyd who may have OD on opioids and/or polypharmacy. Neither deserved to die the way they did.
If you can honestly with a straight face say the media and in general would have been the same if Ashley was a black unarmed man who was shot by a white police officer, them I'm not even sure what to say to that.
Except you simply made a claim without backing it up and then offered that weak claim as a balance for Trump pushing the notion that Babbitt was a victim. I gave you evidence of right wing elevation of Babbit and you responded with more of your unsupported opinion. I don't want to discuss your opinion.... you take that too personally... I'd rather talk about the reporting that influences your opinion and choice to equate the two deaths.
Now you are making claims about Floyd's toxicology report which is in conflict with what was introduced as lab evidence in the trial. How inconvenient. Why did you imply that he might have died that day from drugs? What analysis or reporting causes you to think that way?
I can honestly say that had Babbitt been a black male the reporting would have been different. Different facts lead to different reporting. That seems self evident. But she wasn't black or male... she was a radicalized white Trump supporter.

The party that uses the guise of law in order to weaponize the FBI to interfere with an election that a person they hate that just might win.
But seriously. A few Republicans said defund the FBI. What they did do was underestimate the democrats that would take it seriously. Something so ridiculous as defund or dismantle or re-imagine the police. Could you imagine? But wait.......
So you’re saying that nothing republicans say should be taken seriously?
Defunding is a poor descriptor, it should be refunding. As in reallocation of certain funds to support community policing methods that don’t involve confrontation. Portland has had great success with this approach.
And the fbi actually does a great job in many respects, their closure rate on bank robberies is well over 90%.
Are you ABHWTL? Asking for a friend.

He had very high levels of several illicit drugs. It was presented in the trial. Doesn't matter. Both George and Ashley would be alive if they didn't choose to commit a crime that day. The original post was in reference to martyr of Ashley .

Right so refunding. Sounds better than defunding. Play on words, got it. So maybe we should refund the FBI?
The FBI is great.
I'm actually. ABCLMNOQRS . Tell your friend thanks for asking.

No, he didn't. That's imagined evidence. Maybe you didn't watch that hearing or listen to the expert testimony about those test results, that would explain why your opinion is in conflict with the facts.

Even committing his crime Floyd should have had an expectation of surviving the police encounter for counterfeiting. He died because the police suffocated him slowly to satisfy Chauvin's appetite for making citizens pay a price in his court.

In contrast, Babbitt was unlawfully present in the Capitol building attempting to stop the certification of the election and the orderly transfer of power... all because of a lie that Trump continues to promote. Babbitt climbed through a broken door which was barricaded by armed police providing Security for The People's House... and she did that after being warned and seeing that there was at least one weapon pointed directly at the breach. How confident she must have been that the officers wouldn't shoot her after they told her to stop.
Trump thought she was wonderful, brave and patriotic and he told his adoring fans as much. When you can come up with anything remotely resembling that from Biden or anyone anywhere near the presidency we can talk about both sides and martyr language.

I am not wrong and I've never identified as a Republican or a Trump supporter and yet I've been called a Trump defender, physcophant and a megaphile(in a totally non insulting way) Victim of right wing rhetoric and told to start a pod cast. I've only been on here since yesterday!!
Forgive me but I got the impression from the thread that assumptions are A- okay!

George Floyd was caught committing a crime in which the victim called police. He then refused to get inside a police vehicle and resisted arrest. Probably because he was high on several different substances. He then demanded to be put on the ground. Up to this point he was responsible for his actions. The rest is a crime and the cop is in jail.
Everything you said about Ashley is correct. Again, both would be alive if they didn't choose to commit a crime. Again I was referring to her being a martyr. And George being a martyr.

There's a totally non right leaning source for you. Now get on with attacking the references as you will. Before you misrepresent my words, George was a victim of murder and died as a result of the cop leaning on his neck for an extended period of time. Not a drug OD, but it did to a point contribute in several different ways.

Your first link is broken.
The second link does not support your contention. From the article:
QuoteOn Friday, Hennepin County chief medical examiner Andrew Baker, who performed the county autopsy, took the stand. In documents last year, Baker described the “fatal level of fentanyl” in Floyd’s system and told federal investigators that if the victim was “found dead at home alone and no other apparent causes, this could be an acceptable overdose.” Baker also cautioned, “I am not saying this killed him.”
During cross examination, Baker clarified further. When the defense asked Baker whether fentanyl could have caused the abrasions on Floyd’s lung that were revealed during the autopsy, Baker said that underlying health conditions were “contributing” and not “direct causes” of Floyd’s death.
“In my opinion, the law enforcement, subdual restraint, and the neck compression was just more than Mr. Floyd could take by virtue of those heart conditions,” Baker said.
The article DOES indicate that the defense would try to use this... and they did... it did not go well. There's a thread about this trial. Several of us watched it.
Thanks for providing a link and acknowledging that you were wrong about the drugs.

I said it was in the same realm of democrats defending police when another post made comment of conservatives defunding the FBI. As calling the republican party hypocritical for it because they say they are the party of law and order. I pointed out the hypocrisy of the democrats that called to defend police now criticizing Republicans calling to defend the FBI. I did not call anyone defunders.
And again the few democrats calling
