I don't have access to Washington Post but according to Yahoo he voted the way people in Alabama wanted him to but has since stepped back a bit.
QuoteThe former Auburn University football coach has taken a surprisingly different path in the months since he was elected, seeking to build relationships across the aisle. He's also called Trump's pre-January 6 rhetoric a "mistake" and has said he's not convinced that voter fraud was responsible for Trump's defeat. Even so, Tuberville isn't sorry for his vote on the day of the Capitol riot.
"I have no regrets," Tuberville told the Post.
Again, I think what we're seeing is that they really don't want to step on Trump supporter's toes. Republican Senators haven't really made a big fuss about stopping the myth that the election was stolen or backing away from Trump. They want a middle ground that keeps them in good graces with Trump supporters and other Republicans.
That there are even still Trump supporters will forever be a mystery to me.

It's no mystery. There are millions of Americans who support Trump because they are indoctrinated and do not consume any media outside of the conservative echo chamber. They have been convinced that everything outside of that propaganda is "fake news" and so they willingly narrow their information sources.

That's exactly what cult behavior is. Hopefully, they don't do a Jim Jones or a Koresh.

They are much more likely to break our republic than they are to complete a mass suicide. Unless putting yourself at risk for covid for political beliefs counts as attempting suicide. The leadership of that cult are setting the stage for that coup as we speak. They are in the process of undermining elections at the state level so that they can seize power at the federal level and not have to worry about losing it again in a silly fickle election.
Hummmm.... Manchin considering leaving Democratic Party per this report
From Mother Jones David Corn story 10/20/21; playing hard ball -- appeasing the fossil fuel Republicans in his state but not having overall best interest of West Virginians. Much of Bidens infrastructure and social programs would really help his citizens: parental leave, increasing Home and Community Base services ( provides personal care aid support to live @ home instead of SNF), Medicare payment for vision, hearing and dental etc.
SCOOP: Manchin Tells Associates He’s Considering Leaving the Democratic Party and Has an Exit Plan
He could pull the trigger if he doesn’t get his way on the Build Back Better bill.
Quote...He told associates that he has a two-step plan for exiting the party. First, he would send a letter to Sen. Chuck Schumer, the top Senate Democrat, removing himself from the Democratic leadership of the Senate. (He is vice chair of the Senate Democrats’ policy and communications committee.) Manchin hopes that would send a signal. He would then wait and see if that move had any impact on the negotiations. After about a week, he said, he would change his voter registration from Democrat to independent.
..."He has told reporters that he believes major programs in the Build Back Better bill would move the United States toward an “entitlement mentality"....
...In his talks with Sanders and Democratic legislators, Manchin has said that they should be willing to accept his $1.75 trillion offer and continue to fight for the social and climate change programs he doesn’t support and make these campaign issues in 2022 and 2024, as they try to elect more Democrats. Half of a bill is better than none, he has advised. ....

I don't think he will be able to sustain something like this. He's too cheap to use his own money and donor money is shrinking. IMHO, every time he opens his mouth he alienates a few more people as he did with his caustic comments about C Powell's death.

Not to mention that his platform will quickly become a hotbed of extremist speech spiraling toward violence and another "civil war". Trump and his most radicalized supporters have already shown us what they are capable of in terms of rhetoric AND action. It is interesting that so many conservatives are using facebook to share thinking and grievance but they believe that they've been silenced. Isn't that more evidence of indoctrination?

How could the insurrection have happened without facebook?

It certainly would have been a bit more difficult.
I just got a message from an old friend yesterday who traveled to DC for the January 6th festivities. He also thinks that the media is lying about what occurred that day.
Of course, this 3rd generation of family business wealth believes that nothing occurred beyond an enthusiastic protest against Biden's stealing of an election, that there was am unscheduled tour of the building and that the woman killed climbing through a barricade is a victim and martyr to their grievance. In order to believe that, this college educated business owner must maintain a very narrow media diet, and reject all information which contradicts that specific narrative. It's sad, really, to see this combination of alcohol and political animus change an otherwise good man into a political fool.

This would be devastating for the country, McConnell has no shame or ethics.

What is Tommy Tuberville doing here?
Tuberville is apparently not on team truth or team democracy.
