What are your Thanksgiving break plans?

Published

T minus 3 hours until a 5 day weekend! What do you guys have planned?

My kids are with their dad for pretty much the whole break. I will miss them but that's how our agreement works.

I will spend Thanksgiving at my sister's house which is only about 10 minutes away from me. I'm making pies. I will start tonight and make on on Thursday morning as well. I will start Thursday with a big workout to leave some cushion for a big meal!

Tomorrow I am taking my younger daughter (10) into Chicago to see a musical. I love taking my kids to see shows and she is by far the biggest theatre lover of my 3. We are seeing Miss Saigon- my all time fave!!

Friday, Boyfriend and I are heading into Chicago again to see Book of Mormon. We'll take the train in and make a day of it :)

No plans for Saturday or Sunday. It will be blissfully quiet at my house and my best friend may still be in town so maybe I can get her to hang out. Have a couple drinks and chill.

The boyfriend is staying til Sunday, so that'll be nice.

Thanksgiving morning will have some fitnessing followed by ALL THE FOOD

Some flag football on Friday. Maybe brave one of my favorite stores that morning, but we'll see if I'm up to that.

Not sure what to do Saturday just yet, perhaps some winery hopping?

Either way, I won't check work emails until I sit back at my desk Monday morning!!

I have a half day tomorrow, so I'm baking pies. Alllllllllllllllllll day tomorrow.

My kids will be home from college together in the wee hours of Wednesday morning.

I will do prep work when they sleep and then go out to dinner with whomever is around, probably just The Dude.

I cook on Thursday. Far's Mom will sleep over, and on Friday we will all just hang. The Kids will see their dad at some point, but since they are older and drive, there is no custody or drop off pick up.

Just very low key, enjoying my kids before they go back to school.

10K with my son on Thanksgiving, then we will be meeting hubs and daughter at the in laws. Otherwise, NOTHING...a whole-lotta NOTHING (woohoo)!!

I love it that we are so well adjusted we actually have lives other than nursing. Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

Late entry:

Got my nails done on Wednesday and started the baking - bread, pie (burnt that one :( ), etc

Cooked Thursday and had some of our Army family over for food since our kids are all grown and in different states than us

Friday went to the gym and started the bake for some cakes I made for a co-worker's family celebration

Saturday I went to the gym and finished the cakes

Sunday we started the Christmas decorating and moved some furniture around - I finally have a craft room! :)

I saw T having QUITE THE TIME this weekend with her CutiePie.

:inlove: We had a really nice day in the city. The show was great and it wasn't too cold to stroll around and see lights and whatnot.

I love taking my daughter to the city for shows:).

I did a whole lot of relaxing. My parents both love to cook/host, so we went to their house on Thursday (about 40 min away), per our annual tradition.

On Friday, my daughter and I had a mother/daughter day with my best friend and her girls, who are my daughter's age. We just hung at my house while the girls entertained themselves and we had a nice visit.

Saturday, we went to see the movie version of the Nutcracker, and watched some college football. Sunday/Monday (snow day), I got the holiday decorations out, moved furniture around, and cleaned.

This was the first major holiday since my husband and I separated over the summer. Fortunately I had my daughter for all but Wednesday and yesterday. It went well, and she seemed happy, which made me happy. Fortunately her dad and I live in the same neighborhood, so we both see her most days, for a least a little bit.

Hard, isn't it? My kids are older. They make their own schedule on the holidays, and I get to see them a lot, because they still come home from college to me.

I'm late to the party too! Mainly because Husband-Keeper left to go hunting the weekend before the week before break (does that make sense?!), so naturally both kiddos AND ME got sick while he was gone! Stomach bugs x3 and ended the week with RSV and double ear infection for my daughter! So, we spent Thanksgiving break recovering from a hard week before  we were thankful when Husband-Keeper got home!

But I sure am thankful for this group of peeps, as well! Y'all offer more advice and encouragement than any other nurse's station I've ever been a part of! Truly the best "co-workers" around!

Oh no!! Hopefully everyone is on the mend now!!!
