My full time day LPN schooling will run 5 days a week for 15 months. We go straight through from March 07 until June 08..we do get Federal and State holidays off but no "vacations". The evening class runs M-Th and it takes 22 months to complete.
You can't do an LPN course online as the other poster said since you have to be on site to do clinicals.
There were no pre-requsites per se. I did have to pass an entrance exam and interview. But no high school or college courses had to be taken and passed.
The best thing for you to do is an internet search for "LPN schools in XXX" (whatever state you are in or the State you'd like to go to school)
You can go to a a accelerated nursing program that includes everything that is usually 12-13 months...they are ususally private/trade schools. If you go to a community college you will be looking at atleast 18 months because of pre reqs and IF you get in on a waitlist.
I have never heard of online school but I dont think I could do it! If you want to get done go private/trade that is what I am doing...but prepare for no sleep!
yes, there are online lpn schools. check them out at this site. the online schools and the types of nursing programs they have are listed below the information on how to become an lpn. there are several that have online practical nursing (lpn) programs:

you should also double check with your state board of nursing to make sure that your state board approves the particular online program you are choosing before registering in it. this is to make sure that you would be able to become licensed in your state after completing their online program. you can get a link to your state board of nursing by running your mouse over the "links" button at the top right of this page. a drop down menu appears. click on "boards of nursing". click on your state when the page of states comes up. an active link to your state board of nursing will come up. look for a link on your state board of nursing webpages that refer to "education" or "schools" or something of that type of language.
good luck!

How long does it generally take to become an LPN? Whats the quickest this can be acheived? What pre-reqs are required? Can anyone recommend a good online school with a quick rate of completion?
Thanks.
