I know sometimes i get anxiety and stressed from variable things going on in life. What do you do to cope?
Because of my Recovery journey I assess each stressful situation to see what category it fits into. Is it something within my power to change or not. If not I try to "let go and let God" handle it. If it is within my power to change I roll up my sleeves and get to work.Hppy
This is what I learned about 15 years into my nursing career. It has made my life a lot calmer and I don't get worked up over things I cannot control or fix. Now if I could get hubby to share the same views when his job gets him frustrated it would be great!
My daughter is extremely artistic. Me, not so much. However, she insisted on mommy coloring an adult coloring page with gel pens. It took forever but it came out great! Sometimes it's good to do something that doesn't require stress.
After a stressful day, I take a walk outside. I pick an easy walk where I don't have to deal with traffic. Then I let my mind wander wherever it goes. A walk is more than moving the body, my mind wanders wherever it goes.
I ponder issues that concern me, make plans, imagine possibilities, give thanks for all that is good in life, and come up with new ideas. By the time a long walk is done, my thoughts are folded up, organized and put away, leaving my mind quiet.
