Scrubs with designs or scrubs of a solid color?

Specializes in Case mgmt., rehab, (CRRN), LTC & psych.

As a nurse you might not have a choice in the matter. Many nurses must follow the dress code that their employers have enacted.

At my place of employment, licensed nurses must wear solid royal blue scrubs and CNAs wear solid gray scrubs.

i prefer solids, but as Commuter said, you might not have a choice

Prints disguise stains a lot better than solid colors.

It seems that many facilities are going to solid scrubs, either head to toe in the same color one color on top, another for the bottoms. Color-coding seems to be roaring into vogue too. I'd wait and see what your facility tells you you have to wear

I am so glad my employer doesn't color code the nursing staff. I always wear a print top. I don't think I own a solid colored top.

I didn't until I took this position. Sold all of my "fun" scrubs on eBay--made over $800!!

I would check your facility's dress code to see what they prefer.

I can wear scrubs of any color, or business causal. Personally, I prefer solid scrubs in dark colors. I work with psychotic patients, and I don't need them seeing things in my scrub patterns that aren't there. Which in psych is not as silly of a phenomenon as it may seem to non-psych workers.

I like to be able to choose, but most jobs don't let you. It's been proven patient can't remember your name but a cute print top THAT they remember! Think about this way do you ever remember the waiter/watiress names? But how they look that stands out more...

Prints aren't allowed at my work. Because of this I obviously always wear solids, though I do wish we could at least wear a holiday top on the actual holiday. I wear cat ears when I work on Halloween :) And, no, I don't work in Peds lol

I work in psych as well and I wear prints. Nothing loud or too many colors, but I do like bright colored pants. I've never had a psychotic pt tell me they're seeing things in my scrubs. Most of my patients love my scrubs, I've gotten lots of compliments. I like my 2 pair of bright pants. They are super cheerful, and in turn make me more cheerful :)

I prefer solids. I can wear whatever I prefer at work but i just dont tend to like prints. I tend to think solids are more professional (totally my own opinion). My favorite solid scrub is Emmi West Scrubs. I think they look really classy and are fitting to my body.
