p.s. oopss disregard. just reread your post and you are not asking about nursing school. sorry.
Right now, out of financial necessity, I work full-time as a nurse, 3 12-hr shifts. On my days off, I am a freelance writer. I try to write every day to improve my skills. I would also like to learn how to design web sites, and things like that.
If I decide to further my education, it will not be in nursing, it will be in computers and journalism, because that is what I am interested in at this time in my life. Writing lets me use my creativity in a way that nursing does not.
I will always be a nurse, but I would like to do it on a part-time or PRN basis someday.
I have NOT known anyone who has quit nursing and pursued another career. I would like to but at my age and financial status, can't afford to. My choices would be to 1) finish my Master's degree in Speech Pathology or 2)do something more down to earth like be a pig nursery-woman at home in Iowa!(They make pretty good money! )

Do you know anyone who quit nursing because they don't like nursing? If so, what career did they switch to? Also, what career would you choose if you were to quit nursing?
