Do you know anyone who quit nursing because they don't like nursing? If so, what career did they switch to? Also, what career would you choose if you were to quit nursing?

Honestly I would never quit :nurse:ing; however for a split second I thought about special education or advance math teacher. Now seeing my fiancee love welding, and learning that women in welding make +$$ then men, it starting to seem interesting to learn. I play around with the twig welder, but I honestly think my "calling" is nursing.
I have seen several nurses quit nurseing. Most in my area return to a factory or school, which is just odd to me.
I :redbeathe nursing 4 ever !

I am actually thinking very seriously about quitting nursing and going back to school. I want to work with computers. I wouldn't mind doing something that incorporated my nursing degree/knowledge but I don't want to be a nurse.

I've known of a few nurses who've quit nursing and gone into medical transcription. I know two former nurses who do pet and house sitting. Another works in a florist shop. Another works at a ZCoil shoe store.

I'd prefer to be a Lady of Leisure, myself!!!
I knew an LPN years ago who went to law school. A relative's wife does training for the Department of Family and Children's Services. She still has a nursing license, and still considers herself a nurse. A friend left nursing to be a SAHM, then was unable to return to nursing due to chronic illness.
On the other hand, my dad had a cousin who kept up her nursing license well into her 80's, years after she actually practiced!

Nursing is a second career for me.
If it didnt work out, I'd become a pharmacutical sales rep.

A couple of things come to mind...
-I would learn (or rather increase my knowledge of) playing several instruments....piano, violin, bass guitar and would also get back into singing
-I would write screenplays
-I would take local community classes for sewing and make my own unique clothes (wish I could get as good as those on Project Runway!)
-I would be a local, amateur comedian part-time (I'm actually not kidding)

OFF TOPIC:
OMG! Can't wait to see who goes to Bryant Park next week! I am routing for Chris all the way, but see Christian winning it all.

Honestly- if I could afford it, I would be a bus boy at Perkins or Bob Evans (I love breakfast), or a dishwasher at a country club. I always loved restaurant work but being a waiter is too much like nursing for me.
