You're not serious right now. Do you have any idea how busy a primary practice/specialist's office can be? Do you know how far behind a provider would get if you show up JUST ten minutes late??? It is YOUR responsibility to get to your SCHEDULED appointment on time. Being "severely disabled" is no excuse. And I've worked with people with severe disabilities.

Exactly. Instead of scheduling your appt. for 10:15 and arriving at 10:30, just set schedule your appt for 10:45 and get there at 10:30.
Sometimes things happen, to EVERYBODY, not just disabled people, but these times should be rare, just like being late for work.

Religious types who push their beliefs onto patients--actually witholding treatment options bc informing patients would be against their religous beliefs.

Ugh. People who want to graduate from nursing school and immediately become managers or enter grad school to become APNs without any of that pesky experience being a you know, nurse.

On a similar note, I hate it when staff come in late to report on a regular basis, citing weather, etc. as an excuse. You know if there is snow on the ground. Leave early. Report has ALWAYS started at 7. It's not a surprise. Plan ahead. No one wants to consistently stay late to cover for someone who is too selfish to take personal responsibility for getting to work on time. And it's always the same people who walk in 5 or 10 minutes late.

What do you consider to be a "life"?
Nurses who cannot give their co-workers the same compassion they [probably do not give] their patients.

Parents on their cell phones when you enter the room to go over discharge instructions....and don't hang up the damn phone to listen. Parents who arrive late for their appointment, then come out of the exam room 10 minutes after being checked in, demanding to know why they haven't been seen yet. Or...arrive 45 minutes early and complain about the wait before it's even time for their appointment. Kid with dirty faces, hands, feet, crusty snotty noses, etc. Seriously? You knew you were coming to an appointment! At the very least, break out the wet wipes!
