Discuss what offends you the most and why it offends you.

Here's a quick poll;

Ehh....You've told us where you live in Canada. You've told us how old you are. We know you're a nursing student. And we know you just started a business. We even know where you got your loan from. And is that you in your profile picture?

You are far from anonymous. Anyone could look you up if they tried hard enough.

Alright, many points to argue;

- It's a grant, not a loan. People who receive it can remain anonymous.

- There are tens of thousands of nursing students who are 20 years old and the majority are female.

- The majority of the people on this site are nurses and professors AND from the US. Never found any potential clients here.

- The only people who seem to care and the only people I ever argue with are you and maybe two others (forget their names, forgive me).

- If my occasional sarcasm on an internet forum jeopardizes me, regardless of the care I have for my future clients, my employees, and my business, then it is not meant to be.

That's alright with me.

All my better judgement says to look the other way, but I'm going to say something..

You convey yourself in a very cocky and immature way. The "you do you" and little comments like that have me envisioning one of "those girls" on social media with a selfie flipping off the camera with the caption of "#yolo". That's the image you've created in my head. I realize you're only 20 years old, but you're starting a business as you've made clear here. AN isn't really all that anonymous. It wouldn't take someone very much effort to put 2 and 2 together here. Would you want this type of attitude conveyed to your prospective employees and/or clients? If assume not. So maybe tone it down a bit and add some gracefulness in to your posts. And I say this in all honesty, I'm not trying to upset you or make jabs at you.

This may be US based but there are still PLENTY of Candians and people from other countries here. How hard was it for you to find allnurses? Probably pretty stinking easy. It's that easy for everyone else. You're really not as safe as you may think.

Understood. I'm far from those "selfie" girls, and I only say those things to make people drop a stupid topic that isn't relevant to the thread. However, people twice my age get aggravated at such stupidity and follow my threads to give me life advice. Surely, in my best interest.. :bored:

Then it blows up into this. I'd love nothing more than to stay on topic, and have a nice conversation like I do on all of the other threads I've commented on.

I have absolutely nothing against you, and appreciate your honesty and advice. You've found a way to state your opinion without making me feel defensive. Many individuals on AN can learn from you.

Lol. This reminds me of that joke:

Q: How can you tell if someone is vegan?

A: Don't worry, they'll tell you! :D

Same one works with Crossfit, too. Haha.

Which often begs the question...

If someone is vegan AND does Crossfit, which one do they talk about first?

I think they would just explode.

Exactly — people who are promoted to their highest level of incompetence.

The trendy word now is "mun".

I am soooo not trendy. Still can't wrap my head around "craft beer".

Sounds as bad as "murse."

When you talk about yourself, you talk up your business - which could be great, but right now is little more than a twinkle in your eye. You say everyone in real life is petty and jealous and skeptical of you, yet is begging you to hire them.

You make inflammatory statements and false dichotomies (old nurse vs new nurse, faculty vs students) and act surprised when people get irked. You've been wondering if grades correlate to success in nursing? Really? For the love of all that is holy, please don't start another thread on that.

You think the nurses on this forum are rude, and disregard everything they say that suggests maybe you have a lot to learn about life. I suspect they are members of a silent majority... I am commenting only because you believe they are the exception; I have seen the flippant way you respond to comments and usually prefer not to engage.

Other people are not responsible for "making you" feel defensive. If you run a business, you will have to deal with all types of people and all kinds of attitude. If you are only willing to deal respectfully with people who play along with what you want, you will find yourself without employees or clients.
