just curious to see the personality types alongside the specialty or type of nursing everyone is persuing, or is already doing..
istj, isfj, infj, intj, istp, isfp, infp, intp, estp, esfp, enfp, entp, estj, esfj, enfj, entj
who's taken the myers briggs test? which one are you? what nursing degree do you have or are you going for?
How to you find out what jobs or what area of nursing you should go into based upon your personality? I'm an ESTP. I'm going to be a nursing student in the fall...not sure what yet. I guess it depends on what program I get into..but it could be LPN, ASN, or ASBN. I'm interested in Corrections actually, psych, or forensic nursing.
I'm INTJ. It's exact for me. I won't work where I have to be in contact with the same patient for long periods of time. I guess I don't care enough, LOL.
That made me laugh... 'cos it's EXACTLY how I feel!!!! I did the test about a decade ago and was an INFP... now I've discovered I'm an INFJ... :redpinkhe
Some of the areas that appeal to me... ICU, OR, ER.... or maybe oncology... confused, me??
God knows where I'm going to fit in in the grand scale of things... but I'm pretty excited whatever. Bring it ON!!!

Another INFJ chiming in here. I'm a pre-nursing student (hopeful BSN at Wright State starting Fall 2012) and I think I might be interested in hospice, ICU, oncology, l&d, psych/mental health, or home health. I'm very very interested in nutrition, digestion, and preventative health as well. I also really love working with the elderly population but I've heard so many staffing issues in LTCs that I shy away from that although as a new grad that is probably where I'll end up cause that is where the jobs are, LOL. I also like working with autistic kids and adults. I'm interested in perhaps one day becoming a Nurse Practitioner and opening a clinic to help people with autism, chronic health issues like autoimmune diseases, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, metabolic syndrome, etc.
I've always been fascinated by personality tests and find that the INFJ descriptions are usually pretty accurate for me. Although nursing is almost never listed as an INFJ career and that worries me, LOL! There always seem to be a lot of INFJs who respond to these personality question threads when they go around though, so we are obviously drawn to nursing. I wonder why it is never on the typical INFJ career lists?
