I dont like referring to pt.s that need assistance with meals as "feeders". Again reminds me of a sci-fi/horror movie. "THE FEEDERS" dun dun-dunnnn.

LOL, sorry the sci-fi picture music lol.

I loathe the word "obese". Even if I didn't know the English language, I'd want to stay away from this one instinctively (especially since it's written all over my medical record........). Frankly, I'd rather just be called 'fat'!

i think 'obese' is more specific, being obesed is part of being fat, its not the same

yes, a copd'er...."pink puffer".

i thought emphysema was pink puffer and copd was blue bloater???

I heard that and i automatically want to think that someone's respiratory status is in the crapper.

What is a pulmonary toilet? :lol2:

What is a pulmonary tiolet? :lol2::lol2::lol2:

Open their bowel sounds more like a post-op complication

emphysema is a component of copd.

How about SOB, as in "where is that SOB patient?"

I really dislike the term "expired" used when a patient dies....milk expires, people die or pass on or any other term, but expire?
