Ewww!!! I hate smegma too! And I also hate when pts are referred to as veggies or vegtables. It's too disrespectful.

Exacerbation...I hate that word.

I don't mind being called fat. "Obese" sounds morbid. I yam what I yam although 46 pounds lighter...I'm now less fat or as a doctor put it "mildly obese".

Had a pt. refer to herself as "Adipose Abundant" and refered to my skinny co-worker as "Adipose Challenged" cracked me up! We joked her whole stay about starting a new trend in medicine.. That was one of those this is why I do nursing days.. :monkeydance:

I dislike the term masticate.

Not sure why.

I have to admit this is a fun one to drop at partys - ask people if they masticate - watch them squirm - its great for getting rid of unwanted company too

Smegma.

It always seemed to me that the more disgusting something was, the more disgusting the name for it was. I always wondered who sat around and thought up this stuff?

When I hear that word, which mercifully now is never, I almost get nauseated.

hello, lizbian. I agree with you to. I hate the word "client". It sounds harsh. I don't understand why people refer to their pts as clients. I also don't understand what's the difference between patient and client.

I am a nursing instructor and one term I won't allow my students to use to describe purulent drainage is "***** drainage"!

What about expired for a someone who has passed. It reminds me of bad milk. I hate that term.
