Another thread has prompted me to ask: what mantra/saying/advice has gotten you through nursing school? What do you mutter every day as you head out to all the responsibility that is waiting for you?
Here are mine:
'Never let anyone or anything get in the way of your goal.'
When you think you can't do something, you WON'T. When you think you can, you WILL.
I have the above two sayings on my fridge, so I can look at them every time I open that door.....which is a lot, sadly, LOL.
Finally:
"One more day down and on my way to my goal."
These three sentences have given me strength the whole time and have made a difference for me. What helps you?
I take my mantra from Yoda. I even have a keychain that says it:DO OR DO NOT. THERE IS NO TRY.
I bought it while I was in Disney World with my kids. At the time I was debating if I could start nursing school and get thru it.
It keeps me going.
That is the truth! We are all doing it every day too!
I am in my second semester of ns and we found out a couple weeks ago that my husband was accepted into law school! It will be a little tougher with us both working ft and attending school ft but we will make it. This is what we have always wanted and now our dreams are transforming into reality, pretty cool!

You reminded me of the other mantra that I used to get through NS, which is so second-nature now that I don't even need to say it anymore--I just do it:
"Yard by yard, life is hard. Inch by inch, life's a cinch."
Basically, I take things an inch at a time instead of trying to master it all at once.
