What is your area of nursing and what made you go into this field? Do you love it or hate it?
First job fresh out of nursing school was in a LTC/Rhab center for 2 years. I loved working there, but my heart was in peds.
I work now with severely disabled children and young adults some of whom are medically fragile. I love seeing them smile and react to my voice. My son who was born with CP and MR inspired me to become a nurse. I am paying it forward!

In 1989 a group of us started an outpatient HIV clinic. We were federally funded in 1993 and I have been the director ever since. It's small enough where I get to see patients and it's a nurse run clinic with a physician back up. I love every second of it, except maybe the report writing. I have the most talented nurses on the planet and we have a good time every day.
I work LDRP and Reg Nursery in a hospital based birth center. Its full circle, I can take care of a mom as an out patient getting an NST, then take care of her in labor and delivery, then take care of her and her baby, and if her baby requires to go to the nursery I can continue care even then. I went to school to become an L&D nurse with plans to some day become a CNM. I love my job. I went to a c-section the other day and one of the circulating nurses who I have been to several c-sections with in the last month said "You really love your job don't you". So I guess my love for my job is outward too. I could not imagine doing anything else unless it was per-diem and I was still doing what I do now.
