For me, it has to be anatomy. I recall it being very hard; there was a lot to memorize and the textbook was very hard to read.

Chemistry!
And as a LPN going back to be an RN, being "retaught" certin nursing procedures is pretty hard to endure.I've laughed out loud a few times at some of the things the instructor says.
"crush each pill seperately".
"when checking BS, wipe with alcohol, dry with gauze, squeeze first drop, wipe away first drop with another gauze, squeeze out second drop"
"if the bottom of your sterile glove brushes slightly on the pts sheet you have to start the straight cath all over"

EKGs. I am a couple of years past my BSN now. I have taken the initiative to take classes to improve my EKG-reading skills and...nope. I'm still terrible at reading them. I can tell when something is definitely abnormal though, so I guess that's better than nothing.

All of that pregnancy and birthing related stuff was incredibly challenging for me. It was (and still is) totally alien to me. Don't get me wrong, I kind of liked learning some of it as it's an important part of life, but talk about complicated.

I loved A&P, loved Micro, was okay with chemistry. Worst class? Statistics. I mean, what the fecal obstruction do I need to know about statistics for nursing? Yes, if I was going into research, or even if I was going for a MSN in management. But for a BSN? Loathed it.

Biology (Cells and MOlecules). I seriously hated it , it was all greek to me. I still don't understand a lot of it.
Biochemistry. I took it twice, the first time was horrible (basically teach yourself) and the second time was much better. Hard stuff but better prof.
Kept telling myself, why do I really need to know what cells and molecules and etc. have to do with nursing? I'm now a Bone Marrow Transplant nurse. :)

In my ADN, I'm about to finnish up my College Algebra class. I HATE me some math. In pharm, we've been doing dosage calculations and I've got that down easy-peasy, but when I look at a jumbled mess of numbers and symbols that looks like alien writing, I want to cry.
Ive taken Anatomy and Physiology before (separated, in California) and it was so hard I failed, and am taking it again. Here in Florida it's A&P 1, and A&P 2, rather than all Anatomy at once, and ALL physio at once. It seems to fit together better, and make more sense. Even tho we're using the same book I used previously when I failed... go figure. Also, we're not going into super deep detail, still lots of memorization, but not as much.
I was terrified of Micro, but I actually really enjoyed it.
I'm a little ways off from having to do maternal/neonate, but after having done alot of reading and research on pregnancy and birth for this weeks lesson in A&P, I'm rather traumatized. I don't have kids, never really wanted any, but now I'm just beyond grossed out at the thought. I've already seen about a dozen too many cervixes than I ever hoped I would... blechhh:barf01:

Defo neurological system! I never bothered much with anatomy, after all, we are not diagnosing! Apparently, don't quote me & I've no refs. to hand, the neuro. system is still not totally understood!
