What is your grading scale?

I see a lot of different posts talking about grades and wonder what their grading scale is.

My school uses a 10 point scale as well as rounding. So an 89.5 is an A, 79.5 a B, and so on. We also do not have pluses or minuses, which is nice at times but not so nice at others. I'll take it though, especially given the grading scale and the rounding.

In my program (entry level CNL Master's degree) you must maintain a 3.0 at all times or you have to repeat the course you got a C in. There are also certain courses, such as patho, you must get an A or B in to continue, no matter what your cumulative GPA is.

What about you?

This is ours. You also have to have a 79.5% test average to have any other things added to your grades.

I am in my last semester at HACC and for the nursing program 75% or better is passing. 75-83% is a C. 83-91% is a B. and 92% or better is obviously an A!

90-100% A

80-

75-

The first half of the semester I had 83%, second half, 74%. So I failed the entire semester.

My ADN Program:

93% and above was an A

77% for a C. Anything less was failing.

No one cared about the others.

^85-92 B, we have the same rating at my school. And clinical is either Pass or Not Pass (they were kind enough to not use the F word), no other designated letter grades. It doesn't help our grade at all if we Pass, but if we get NP we can't move on to the next semester.

Specializes in Med-Surg, NICU.

93 - 100 (A)

90 - 92.9 (A-)

87 - 89.9 (B+)

83 - 86.9 (B)

80 - 82.9 (B-)

77 - 79.9 (C+)

73 - 76.9 ©

70 - 72.9 (C-)

67 - 69.9 (D+)

60 - 66.9 (D)

Below 60 (E)

I WISH 90% was the mark for solid A's, because I would have had a 4.0 this semester!

In order to pass, you must get a 73%. Some instructors will round, others will not.

In my program the grading scale is as follows: 92.5-100 = A 83.5-92.4 = B 74.5-83.4 = C

Specializes in Operating Room.

My BSN program is as follows:

92% to 100% = A

87% to 91% = B+

82% to 86% = B

77% to 81% = C+

70% to 76% = C

60% to 69% = D

Less than 60% = F

Specializes in Aesthetics, Med/Surg, Outpatient.

It's really interesting to see how all over the place these grading scales are!

Less than 80 is failing. I'm.so jealous of the 70s being Cs!

My school doesn't round even if your grade is a 79.99. You still are considered to be failing !
