What is your grading scale?

I see a lot of different posts talking about grades and wonder what their grading scale is.

My school uses a 10 point scale as well as rounding. So an 89.5 is an A, 79.5 a B, and so on. We also do not have pluses or minuses, which is nice at times but not so nice at others. I'll take it though, especially given the grading scale and the rounding.

In my program (entry level CNL Master's degree) you must maintain a 3.0 at all times or you have to repeat the course you got a C in. There are also certain courses, such as patho, you must get an A or B in to continue, no matter what your cumulative GPA is.

What about you?

My school doesn't round, either. And I'm so jealous of the 75's as C's. We lost so many people this semester who went below a 77, which is my school's lowest allowed score.

I actually love that we have an 80 for passing. We get hired quicker than other ADN programs in our area too. I really think the two are related. Not only are we clinically prepared very well but you have to be pushing hard for that 80, harder than some other programs.

A 93 – 100 4.0

A – 90 – 92 3.7

B + 87 – 89 3.3

B 83 – 86 3.0

B – 80 – 82 2.7

C + 77 – 79 2.3

C 73 – 76 2.0

C – 70 – 72 1.7

F 69 and below 0.0

I am really glad 93 is an A. In my undergrad a 93 was an A-! I'm kinda bitter that people can get A+ at some schools. I don't know what the cutoff is for passing. I'm assuming a C-? If you're not meeting course objectives the teacher lets you know and you have to do a plan to get back on task so I don't think very many people fail.

where did you find the grading scale at on the hacc website because I have looked everywhere and can't find it

can you tell me where you were able to locate the grading scale for Hacc because I have looked all over and cant seem to find and I would like to keep a copy for myself so i can keep track of what my grade is

Angie, a grading scale should be in the syllabus from your instructors. I'd ask them, or check the paperwork they've given you so far. It probably also in the student handbook.

My nursing program

93-100 = A

85-92 = B

80-84 = C

anything below is failing

Specializes in Emergency Department.

The school itself uses a pretty standard ABCDF grading scale where:

A = 90-100%

B = 80-89%

C = 70-79%

D = 60-69%

F =

The program itself uses the following grading scale, and they do NOT round:

A = 90-100%

B = 80-89%

C = 75-79%

F = Anything below 75%. Your overall grade must be ≥75% to progress in the program. If you get lower than that, you'll still receive the letter grade that the school uses, but you will not progress to the next course. Of course you must also pass certain quizzes/exams with ≥90%.

And like I said, they don't round. If you are even less than a point short of what you need to pass, you still fail.

The general school scale? I'm not sure about that one. However, anything below 65% for our nursing classes is a fail.

77 is the minimum at ours, an 86 is a B, a 95 is an A

Specializes in Hospitalist Medicine.

Our grading scale in nursing school is:

91-100 4.0

86-90 3.5

81-85 3.0

76-80 2.5

75 or less is academic failure. There is also no rounding whatsoever. If you get a 90.9, you don't get rounded up to 91. There were quite a few students in our class that missed a 4.0 by a tenth of a point. I managed to eke out a 4.0...whew :)

Oh how I envy the 90-100 = A.

My school:

93-100 = A

85-92 = B

75-84 = C

Below 75 = failing

Must maintain 3.0

I'm in a BSN program.
