Where I attend nursing school I think that the grading scale is unfair. There is a shortage of nurses in this county. Why make it so difficult for nursing students to help fill the void. I do agree that nursing school should be hard, we all still have to pass the NCLEX to practice. If you don't know what you are doing most likely you won't be able to pass it. My grading scale is as following 93-100% A 92-86% B 85-76 C.

A = 93 - 100
B = 86 - 92
C = 80 - 85
Under 80 is not passing. And you only get to repeat 1 class for the entire program, second time you get under 80% you get kicked out.

Why do you think the grading is tough? I don't want a nurse that only knows 75% of the stuff she was supposed to learn. And if one averages 75% I highly doubt NCLEX will be passed. Grading at my school is the same except 75 is a C and 74 is failing.

LOL!
Ours is:
90-100 - A
80-89 - B
70-79 - C
And for what it's worth, our school also has a 98% NCLEX pass rate, so even though the grade scale sounds easy, the program is VERY good.

My grading scale is
91-100=A
80-90=B
74-79=C
Therefore anything below a 74 is failing. My school also has >90% pass rate (usually in the HIGH 90s) on the NCLEX.
