What is your grading scale in nursing school?

Where I attend nursing school I think that the grading scale is unfair. There is a shortage of nurses in this county. Why make it so difficult for nursing students to help fill the void. I do agree that nursing school should be hard, we all still have to pass the NCLEX to practice. If you don't know what you are doing most likely you won't be able to pass it. My grading scale is as following 93-100% A 92-86% B 85-76 C.

Anything less than 75 is failing, except for the drug calc which is anything less than 80 is failing.

90-100=A

80-89=B

75-79=C

68-74=D

0-67=F

We also have a hight NCLEX pass rate. (>95%)

Now I'm starting to wonder if I'm wrong. Are the grading scales for the nursing classes often different than the grading scales for the rest of the school?

That's a big 10-4

(at my school anyway)

Ditto above post:

Anything less than 75 is failing, except for the drug calc which is anything less than 90 is failing. After three unsuccessful attempts of any drug calc exam you get the BOOT.

No grades, but anything less than a 75% average is failing. Anything less then 85% on drug calc is failing. You get 3 attempts for the drug calc.

A - 100-90

B - 89-80

C - 79-75

Anything below 75 is failing. As far as our NCLEX rate - our school had 100% last graduating class & usually maintained a 98% 3yrs. prior to that.

They really weed the students out early. Happy to say, I am growing into a flower. :)

We have the normal 10 point scale. Although anything below 73% is failing. Drug Calc exam has to be passed with a 100% and NO retakes.

Anything below 77 is failing, no rounding, no curves, 100% on drug calc. 2 chances

Our drug calculation test is an all or nothing thing too.

80 and over is passing at my school. Anything under is failing. An 80 is, of course, a C. You must make a C to pass the course.

Bumping this up.
