Just curious what has been your favorite prereq and why?
Mine was A&P...why? It didn't bother me studying for hours on end b/c the human body absolutely fascinates me!!! I loved lab too. I happened to have a professor that had been a nurse for years, so she applied a ton towards nursing.
Tips for those who haven't taken it yet...try to not take a tough load the same semester you take these classes. Pay full attention in class, and DON'T CRAM for the tests....study a bit each day and spread it out.
Wow...I am amazed at how many love micro...I have to admit, I am liking it a tad more now. BUT to give you an example... three girls were crying after our last test:eek: I think I must have a hard prof, b/c this is by far the hardest class I have EVER taken. Good Luck Everyone!!!
the ones that love micro should come to my class and take the weekly lab quizzes....the class average on those is really low....teacher will give us an extra lab test because of the poor lab quizz performances!!!! I have a 95 average on the quizzes Come and try to get 10 out of 10 each week and see how many would still love the class..........
It's another ultimate bootcamp, weed-out class and only the fittest survive!!!!!!!
A&P was worse, no doubt!

The sciences have been interesting but veeeeerrrrryyyyy time consuming to the point of burn out. Micro (I am taking now) is about to kill me. I think its cuz I want an A and am having trouble enjoying the process. I do like Lab quite a bit and find most everything "somewhat" interesting, I guess. I liked A&P much more, and chemistry much less...
Speech was a killer for me--I had anxiety over it at the time, and I also loved English and Sociology.

I feel the same as you....the pressure of having to make an A takes the fun out, I can never really relax! Believe it or not but Speech was a totally fun class....I was pregnant at the time and was flooded with happy hormones. My teacher made things so fun and put us at ease. Sociology was a little stressful because of a group project and an extremely uncooperative group member, I ended up having to do most of the work....got an A in the end
I loved Micro. I was actually sad on the last day of lab. I know, I'm weird.
On a different level, A&P was my eye opener. I came to realize that A&P should be a requirement in high school. I almost changed my major to Secondary Education, wanting to teach A&P and doing what needed to be done to make it required. Boy, wouldn't children everywhere love me??? I don't know how you can get through school, learning about life and how to live it, and not know about your own body, which you need so you can do all the stupid algebra stuff that they cram down your throat. I can't believe I graduated and didn't know where most of my organs are or what they do.
Favorite lecture class was A&P 2. And my favorite lab class was microbiology, though I really enjoyed the dissections in A&P lab. I've taken all the humanities and social science classes in my first BA and thought that was the area for me. But know with all the science classes that I love, I know that nursing will be the right area for me.

I love reading but English Comp gave me nightmares. I am not good at coming up with stuff on the spot. I figured it would help with grammer but it didn't teach any grammer. I wrote paper after paper after paper. I have to sit and think out the order I am going to do things and on my final I had to choose a subject from the few offered by teacher on the spot and turn in within 2 hours. I ended up with an A, but it was pure torture.
God Bless,

I loved A&P 2. It involved more physiology and required you to really tie the different systems and anatomy together. A&P 1 was mostly memorization. My a&p 2 teacher had a phd and was an excellant teacher. We also got to visit a cadaver teaching facility which was ultimately the coolest!
