What is your de-stress?

Nurses Stress 101

Published

The last few postings I've seen for the last couple days are highly stress influenced. And why not? We're in one of the most stressful/pressured positions of work. So I thought for fun, I'd get some suggestions from my friends at AN to see what you do to de-stress?

My contribution: a pedicure. I love the relaxing spa feel of a foot soak and a cute nail polish that only I can see hidden in my nursing shoes.

:) What is your de-stressing techniques? Does it help? :)

Guess I'm not alone with the video games - my husband and I play co-op games, that's how we both relax. I would love to say that running was how I destressed. I tried it once, made it about 2 blocks and gave up.

I hate running just for the sake of running. I just lack motivation to do it. I'll play full court basketball for three hours straight, but there is no way in hell I'll go run around the block.

i crochet baby blankets...keeps my hands busy so I don't strangle anyone who dares to stress me out lol..

I also play with my border collie, yoga and kickboxing, and a few adult beverages don't hurt either!

Tactical Carbine and 3-gun Competitions. Nothing compares to launching 400-500 rounds of Carbine, Pistol, Shotgun in a simulated "Hogan's Alley" of Threat vs. No Threat-targets...

Really helps me wind down.

I love running. It gets my anger and stress off me. I can run forever on sidewalk or on treadmill.

It's nice....so relaxing and I feel so good afterwards.

Basketball fun too, but I'm a tad bit competitive

I assume you mean Battlefield 3. Modern Warfare 3 looks terrible ;)

Music is the best relaxer for me though. Playing or just listening makes all my troubles seem to go away.
