I came across this is little story today, it's not breaking news. I suspect that a member of the housekeeping staff knows something about the bomb threat that required the sweep for weapons.
According to police in Secaucus, the bomb threat — which later was determined to be bogus — was called in to Hudson Regional Hospital on July 18. During a search, bomb detection dogs led investigators to an unlocked office closet containing dozens of firearms.
Among the weapons were 11 handguns and 27 rifles or shotguns, according to police. The closet also contained a .45 caliber semi-automatic rifle with a high-capacity magazine that was determined to be an assault rifle, and a 14-round high-capacity handgun magazine.
The arrested the guy the next day.
What the heck do you think this guy was doing? It sounds very ominous that he was keeping those weapons there.
Dozens of individuals held in Washington, D.C.'s jail on charges related to the Jan. 6, 2021 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol have submitted a handwritten letter to a federal court demanding to be moved to Guantanamo Bay. The detainees say they are living in inhumane conditions.
The seven-page letter reviewed by NPR is signed by 34 defendants, and was submitted as part of a response to the government for its denial of alleged Capitol rioter Ryan Nichols' pretrial release. Nichols is facing multiple charges related to his alleged participation in the insurrection.
The individuals who signed off on the letter include David Dempsey, who allegedly used a chemical spray as well as a crutch and a metal pole to attack police officers guarding the Capitol building, and Ronald Sandlin, who is accused of assaulting police on two separate occasions inside the Capitol.
The detainees list several issues. The conditions allegedly include no religious services or visitations, "black mold" and "worms" on the jail's walls and in food, abuse by guards, and vaccine requirements for visits and other services. They also say their clothing sent to laundry is returned covered in "brown stains, pubic hair and or reeking of ripe urine." And they say they've lost eyesight and hair because of "malnourishment.
In contrast, the letter says that Guantanamo Bay "actually provides nutritional meals, routine sunlight exposure, top notch medical care, is respectful of religious requirements, has centers for exercise/entertainment for its detainees despite the fact that those residents are malicious terrorists."

I hope at least she still thinks as she has in the past that Trump is unfit to serve. I guess she's no longer endorsing Biden.
I confess I had to look up what is meant by "elistist cabal".
Apparently she spoke a CPAC, the right wing conference, in February. So that she was no longer a Democrat and embracing that rhetoric doesn't seem to be worthy of the lead story today. But like I say it's a slow news day and it is worthy to be reported no doubt.

Not only Trumpism but a good deal of white America doesn't want to swallow the bitter pill that racism exists. By not acknowledging that it exists it won't get fixed. By calling Democrats anti-white it fits in very well with this group that doesn't want to look at racism.
Other races and gay people have made great strides and I think it threatens them that we are equal. At best they often change the subject to "what about black on black crime, what about the fact that statistically speaking blacks commit more crime, why should they get favoritism just because they are black...". And they don't want to hear about the past or to hurt their kids feelings with the past. Somehow learning that we're better human beings with equality that we didn't always have it not a good thing to teach.

I really didn't listen to the whole thing but the question of "why are we sending so much money to the Ukraine" seemed to be answered by the idea of the military industrial complex profiting rather than than helping Ukraine fight off Russia. I have seen conservatives starting to balk at helping Ukraine. Florida Representative Gaetz said something to the effect "just send us the same amount you've sent Ukraine" in response to hurricane Ian relief.
Mind you, if you've followed me on these forums I've had a huge problem with the military industrial complex. I kind of agree with her the stranglehold they have on us. We bicker over providing healthcare but spend nearly 800 billion on the military. So the Ukraine help really is just a tiny drop in the bucket.
A Lake Mead water level forecast has shown the point at which deadpool level could start closing in at the reservoir. Deadpool is the level when the water in a reservoir can no longer flow downstream from a dam. For Lake Mead, this level is 895 feet.
A forecast from the Bureau of Reclamation released on August 31 show the two and five year projections at the lake. In the worst-case-scenario, the water level is expected to fall to just above 990 feet in July 2024.
Mead is the biggest man-made reservoir in North America, and its water levels are rapidly evaporating. The lake, which lies across Nevada and Arizona, is drying up due to the ongoing megadrought in the western United States...
