I came across this is little story today, it's not breaking news. I suspect that a member of the housekeeping staff knows something about the bomb threat that required the sweep for weapons.

QuoteAccording to police in Secaucus, the bomb threat — which later was determined to be bogus — was called in to Hudson Regional Hospital on July 18. During a search, bomb detection dogs led investigators to an unlocked office closet containing dozens of firearms.
Among the weapons were 11 handguns and 27 rifles or shotguns, according to police. The closet also contained a .45 caliber semi-automatic rifle with a high-capacity magazine that was determined to be an assault rifle, and a 14-round high-capacity handgun magazine.
The arrested the guy the next day.
What the heck do you think this guy was doing? It sounds very ominous that he was keeping those weapons there.
QuoteA fireball consumed two sections of the only bridge linking the occupied Crimean Peninsula to Russia on Saturday, disrupting the most important supply line for Russian troops fighting in southern Ukraine and dealing an embarrassing blow to the Kremlin, which is facing continued losses on the battlefield and mounting criticism at home.
The blast and fire sent part of the 12-mile Kerch Strait bridge tumbling into the sea and killed at least three people, according to Russian authorities, who said a Ukrainian truck bomb had caused the blast.
The Ukrainian government, which applauded the damage, did not publicly take responsibility for the explosion. One senior Ukrainian official, speaking on condition of anonymity because of a ban on officials discussing the matter, said that Ukraine’s intelligence services had orchestrated the attack and that it involved a bomb loaded onto a truck that drove across the bridge.
Aww..Putin might take this personally after he built this bridge to the first bit of Ukraine that he stole.
It must have been a slow news because no stories on crime in Dem Run cities on Fox News. The lead story is about Tulsi Gabbard finally formerly leaving the Democrat Party.
I hope at least she still thinks as she has in the past that Trump is unfit to serve. I guess she's no longer endorsing Biden.
I confess I had to look up what is meant by "elistist cabal".
Apparently she spoke a CPAC, the right wing conference, in February. So that she was no longer a Democrat and embracing that rhetoric doesn't seem to be worthy of the lead story today. But like I say it's a slow news day and it is worthy to be reported no doubt.
Quote"I can no longer remain in today’s Democratic Party that is now under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness, who divide us by racializing every issue & stoke anti-white racism," Gabbard said in an excerpt posted to Twitter.

"Anti-white racism" ... she's trying really hard to inspire Trump's people it sounds like.

Not only Trumpism but a good deal of white America doesn't want to swallow the bitter pill that racism exists. By not acknowledging that it exists it won't get fixed. By calling Democrats anti-white it fits in very well with this group that doesn't want to look at racism.
Other races and gay people have made great strides and I think it threatens them that we are equal. At best they often change the subject to "what about black on black crime, what about the fact that statistically speaking blacks commit more crime, why should they get favoritism just because they are black...". And they don't want to hear about the past or to hurt their kids feelings with the past. Somehow learning that we're better human beings with equality that we didn't always have it not a good thing to teach.
Lindsay Graham famously stated "systemic racism doesn't exist in America" but even Biden has had issues.

QuoteSimply getting people to recognize that others are excluded is difficult, said Williams, who is also a professor of African and African American studies and of sociology. He said many Americans underestimate racial inequities, and some among those who are aware of inequality blame minorities themselves. Citing national data from 2015, he said that 50 percent of white Americans believe that discrimination is as bad against whites as it is against people of color. In addition, while a majority of Americans seem to understand that hard work does not guarantee success, a full 50 percent of whites believe that people of color would be more successful “if they only tried harder.”

About racism.
QuoteThe American Civil Liberties Union has foundthat “the aggressive enforcement of marijuana possession laws needlessly ensnares hundreds of thousands of people into the criminal justice system and wastes billions of taxpayers’ dollars,” and that “it is carried out with staggering racial bias.” In addition, this enforcement “has failed to reduce marijuana use and availability and diverted resources that could be better invested in our communities.”

Overheard Tulsi Gabbord + Joe Rogan talking on Ukraine and the Military Industrial Complex while my son was watching one his subscribed Youtube channels. Per son "The World is going to crash at same time food shortage". "Were not getting proper information from regular news channels, I won't watch them anymore."
Since I've been through many shortages and economic down turns, not as cynical as him and only partially accept info Joe and Tulsi spouting.

I really didn't listen to the whole thing but the question of "why are we sending so much money to the Ukraine" seemed to be answered by the idea of the military industrial complex profiting rather than than helping Ukraine fight off Russia. I have seen conservatives starting to balk at helping Ukraine. Florida Representative Gaetz said something to the effect "just send us the same amount you've sent Ukraine" in response to hurricane Ian relief.
Mind you, if you've followed me on these forums I've had a huge problem with the military industrial complex. I kind of agree with her the stranglehold they have on us. We bicker over providing healthcare but spend nearly 800 billion on the military. So the Ukraine help really is just a tiny drop in the bucket.

Lake Mead Water Level Forecast Shows Point Deadpool Could Start Closing In
Quote
A Lake Mead water level forecast has shown the point at which deadpool level could start closing in at the reservoir. Deadpool is the level when the water in a reservoir can no longer flow downstream from a dam. For Lake Mead, this level is 895 feet.
A forecast from the Bureau of Reclamation released on August 31 show the two and five year projections at the lake. In the worst-case-scenario, the water level is expected to fall to just above 990 feet in July 2024.
Mead is the biggest man-made reservoir in North America, and its water levels are rapidly evaporating. The lake, which lies across Nevada and Arizona, is drying up due to the ongoing megadrought in the western United States...

Alex Jones ordered to pay $965 million for Sandy Hook lies
Quote
Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones has been ordered by a Connecticut jury to pay $965 million to people who suffered from his false claim that the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting was a hoax.
...The jury awarded various sums to the victims’ relatives, who testified that they were threatened and harassed for years by people who believed the lies told on Jones’ show. Strangers showed up at the families’ homes to record them. People hurled abusive comments on social media.
Mark Barden testified that conspiracy theorists urinated on the grave of his 7-year-old son, Daniel, and threatened to dig up the coffin; Barden and his wife were together awarded about $86 million. Now-retired FBI Agent William Aldenberg, awarded $90 million, described the horror he saw at the school as he responded alongside other law enforcement, and his outrage at seeing online claims that he was an actor....
QuoteOn a monthly basis, consumer prices edged up a larger-than-expected 0.4% after a 0.1% increase in August. And while overall inflation is softening gradually, a key measure of underlying price gains hit a new historic level last month.
Core prices, which exclude volatile food and energy items and generally provide a better measure of longer-term trends, increased 0.6% from August following a similar rise the previous month. That pushed the annual increase from 6.3% to 6.6%, a new 40-year high.
