I came across this is little story today, it's not breaking news. I suspect that a member of the housekeeping staff knows something about the bomb threat that required the sweep for weapons.

QuoteAccording to police in Secaucus, the bomb threat — which later was determined to be bogus — was called in to Hudson Regional Hospital on July 18. During a search, bomb detection dogs led investigators to an unlocked office closet containing dozens of firearms.
Among the weapons were 11 handguns and 27 rifles or shotguns, according to police. The closet also contained a .45 caliber semi-automatic rifle with a high-capacity magazine that was determined to be an assault rifle, and a 14-round high-capacity handgun magazine.
The arrested the guy the next day.
What the heck do you think this guy was doing? It sounds very ominous that he was keeping those weapons there.

I won't hold my breath for a quick resolution, but atleast they've been put on notice. It is something, and it is sad, however not shocked!!

We are reopening the thread, but please think about your words before you submit your comment. Is this something you would hesitate to say at the Tanner family Thanksgiving? If so, maybe hold off on tapping that "Submit Reply" button and reread what you wrote.
Thus ends our travels back in time to a Full House. Roll the credits.
Sit, Ubu, sit.

Nice try with the spin though!
We are aware that the Democrats and Republicans sort of kind of switched platforms right?? This is a murky area and not to say that loyalties have changed but since you're posting about historical events
QuoteA majority in the North Carolina House agreed on Wednesday to call for a meeting to make changes to the U.S. Constitution, saying the time is now to consider alterations to the federal government's powers and finances, as well as term limits.
The House voted for a pair of resolutions that would add North Carolina to the list of states that are seeking a national "convention of states" as the Constitution permits.

I guess we would have to trust the involved Republicans to not change their minds about the constitution when we know that there are Republicans in most states who agree with Trump about terminating the constitution or dismantling the DOJ or FBI. Who will place limits on what those people try to change?

I haven't thought about this very deeply, I have no problem with a constitutional convention, per se. It reinforces the rule of law and government with the consent of the governed. The genius of the Constitution is the flexibility to respond to changing times.
I remain suspicious of motives and agendas - but those are different discussions.

The GOP would not necessarily have a lock on permissible proposals. I know I would definitely have a wish list!
The devil being in the details, I would keep an eye on how proposals get added to the agenda and the nuts'n'bolts of debate rules. She who defines the issues (controls the agenda) wins the fight.

Agreed. I just don't think that Republicans are reliable or credible just now. Too many of them are toying with or directly engaging in authoritarian or fascist activities.

I agree - as I said, I'm very suspicious of motives and agendas.
But, like the poor, the human hyenas are always with us. The best we can do is to keep them in check so that they don't ruin the lives of the rest of us.
Take-away: if such a convention comes to pass, best not to sit it out.

Last Republican mayor there was in 1973. And he was the first one in 30 years. Why are we not surprised.
