HeHeHe, I got my "present" early this year. Yesterday, Hubby hands me a 25.00 gift card for Target and gives me the "It's not much but I don't have much time or money" speech. I don't mean to sound ungrateful but it's the same gift card that his boss handed him (not much time or effort involved.) A fitting gift for a marriage in trouble, I guess.
I decided to make the best of it and bought myself a black tote bag for my schoolbooks and a black dayplanner to match.
Mine outdid himself this year. He picked out a 3-diamond necklace set in white gold. He determined that the three stones (typically 'past-present-future') actually stand for "Papa Bear-Mama Bear-Baby Bear" since we had our first child in September. For a guy that hardly ever ever supports the Hallmark company, he really redeemed himself this Christmas. :kiss
How cute
I am sorry to read this, you deserve better! Next time responded to his "what's for dinner" with "Honey YOU 're having cyperchips and dip" and then pack up the kids and go out without him.....
That's a good answer, maybe he will realize he is spending way too much in the computer. I know I am not the one to talk, but when dh is home, pc goes off.
i'm a little late posting on this one - whoops! :roll
our gifts to each other this year - our first christmas as a married couple (awww!) - were in two categories: things we knew about and things we didn't know about. his parents sent us $200 to spend on ourselves, so we split up the money and had a fun shopping day together.
gifts i knew about ('cuz i got to pick them out):
--sweater, shirt, skirt, and pants from old navy (un-freaking-believable sale, too)
--dvd of shall we dance? (ricky gere dancing a lot. mmmmm...)
--candle from bath & body works. this was actually a present from us, to us, but i like to claim it as mine. it smells like firewood, of all things. totally awesome.
gifts i didn't know about (his nana gave him $100 as a christmas gift... and he spent it all on me. sweetheart!):
--gift card to bath & body works (more candles!)
--gift card to borders (i'm a confessed bookoholic)
--victoria's secret underwear that was cotton, comfortable, still sexy and highly needed. good boy!
i'm so glad i married him. i think i'll keep him around. :wink2:
(and if you don't want to puke at how cutesy i must sound, well, you're probably a newlywed, too. or a hopeless romantic. or, you have a strong stomach.)
My Hubbie out did himself! He bought me a Littmann Cardiology III stethoscope. What is so touching is I'm not even a nursing student yet. (Hope to get in in the Fall) He asked all his friends that have wifes that are nurses to find out what kind to get. The card was what done me in though. I cried like a baby!! I got to open my present first (I don't think he could wait any more) and my four year old said to my 12 year old "I wish Mommy would stop crying so I could open my presents" :roll After that I felt cheesy giving him Christmas lights. In my defense, my husband hates Christmas (the materialism) but he loves the blue Christmas lights. I got 4 boxes of really cool, different looking blue Christams lights to go along with our new tree.
:Ball: Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!
Mine really out did himself. He kept teasing me that he was going to get me pots and pans. Not that I'd be ungrateful if he did, but I don't want appliances or household stuff when I gae him a list of lots of things I wanted
So he got me a 3 stone diamond anniversay ring, aroma therpay lotions and a gift card to Victoria secret.
I got him a 400 piece poker set, XBOX 360 with 2 games and a extra wireless remote and some clothes.
I got a sleep mask with memory foam that plays white noise, babbling brook and other "soothing" sounds from Brookstone. I work at night and our room gets all the daytime sun and is closest to the noisy neighbors. If I'm lucky, I get 3 hours sleep. I hope this works.![]()
Where did you get your sleep mask with white noise.....I'd die for one:D
