EWB starts tomorrow, and I am fully prepared to knock it out over the next 2 days and get it done.
My goal is to be done with my BSN by Christmas, and I am psyched and ready to go!
Anyone joining me tomorrow? ?

I can't say the same, I'm still waiting to see the results of my assessment test. I also haven't gotten my credits evaluated yet, how long did the process take you?
Good luck on EWB, keep us posted.

I was hoping to start tomorrow too, but am STILL waiting on transcript review. This has been a much longer process than I anticipated (started June8) and has caused me to look elsewhere. I haven't completely ruled out WGU because it is so affordable and I think the learning style will be a good fit for me. The beginning of the process went very quickly, I took the assessment test and passed with flying colors, have submitted everything they have asked for in a timely manner. Then it all came to a screeching crawl. Good luck to you and keep us posted on your progress and what you think of the program Sweettart!

Wow, I'm sorry for all of you who are experiencing delays! I think when I started the process, it took about 3 weeks to get through everything.
Right now I'm plodding through Biochem.

Amazing!! I, too, am waiting for my transcripts to be evaluated. I will be in the October 1st class IF they accept my A&P and Micro from Excelsior. Also, if they accept my first nursing course through Chamberlain, I will only have 4 classes to complete, 5 at the most. Does anyone have any information about whether or not WGU will accept Excelsior's A&P or Micro? I would really love to complete the BSN by the end of the year at the very latest. Right now, I'm fighting through Statistics and a nursing course (Informatics in Nursing) with a course set for a May graduation if I continue on the current path. Any info would be helpful because I will drop Statistics at the drop of a dime if WGU tells me what I want to hear.
I don't think they take Excelsior's A&P and Micro or if they do, only partial. I think you need statistics for WGU so I wouldn't quit that class. I'm hoping for the same start date. I want to be done by early next year, so I can start working on my MSN.
Thanks even though that is NOT what I wanted to hear. I'm currently enrolled with Chamberlain and doing a nursing course along with Statistics. My advisor said that I will be set for graduation in May of 2012 once I complete the courses as she has arranged them. I guess I will just have to settle for that because I'm NOT a biology person at all and would rather tough out statistics than biology any day. Still, I will wait and see and hope for a different outcome once WGU evaluates my transcripts. Thanks again!
Standing on my soapbox:
WGU WILL ONLY TAKE PARTIAL CREDIT FROM EXCELSIOR!
Stepping down......
So I finished EWB and had my counselor meeting today. Or mentor, as they call them. I am a tad annoyed. I was told that I could take all of my classes simultaneously and work in the order that I wanted to.
Not so fast.....
According to Miss Mentor, I have to take my re-reqs first, and she will only open up 14 credits for me at a time. I was planning on knocking out a couple of nursing courses first to get over my annoyance at repeating A&P and Micro and now that is not an option. I am going to try and appeal this, but we'll see what happens. I am still going to finish in a much shorter time and with a lot less money lost than if I were at IWU.
Overall, my mentor made me a bit nervous. I do not like to talk on the phone to people and she rattled, but she admitted to being a bit nervous too, so it was all good. I absolutely HATE talking on the phone. Even when my family calls, I will 9/10 times send it to voice mail. I just hate it. So that is going to take some getting used to. (I'd much rather Skype!)
So anyway, this has been my experience. I will also not be able to submit anything to Taskstream until the 10th, as I won't have a user account until that time. However, I can probably get done my nutrition class at that time, and then plow through the rest.
YMMV, but this is my experience on day 1. I am ready to be done!
I have come to the conclusion to take everything with a grain of salt when applying to these schools. Enrollment counselors tell you what you want to hear to get you in the door, you are drawn farther and farther in, then reality hits when it's too late to back out. All I want to know is what classes I will need to take at WGU so that I can compare to 2 other schools I am considering. Seems straight forward to me but is not that easy apparently.
I'm sure it's a little rocky getting started- hang in there- I will be looking forward to your posts!
Fwiw, It's NOT a requirement that you have to do all peeress before you can touch nursing courses. I'm scheduled to take nursing informatics before "social sciences"

I feel the same way, I just want to know what classes I need and when I can get started. You must be enrolled in order for them to evaluate your credits and that in it self is a process. Hope it works out for us both.
