Western University MSN-E 2019

Published

I just submitted my application and wanted to start a thread for this year's application cycle. Through this thread we can lend each other advice, support, updates, and/or questions!

A little about me... I recently completed my undergraduate studies and realized nursing was my true passion. I went from pre-med --> pre-dental --> pre-PA and now I'm here! I'm super excited to have applied because I feel life I've finally found what I want to do with myself. I also barely found out that accelerated Master's programs in Nursing exist.

I read last year's thread and it said that people receive an email saying their "application has been forwarded to the admissions department" or something like that. Did anyone who applied already receive this email yet?

Cheers.

I was able to leave around 3 I think. But I don’t know if they cut parts of it short because of the rain, so I’d expect to be there till 4 like it states in the email, just in case.

Got it! Last Question: do you know how soon Western will get back to us for those who got an EAOD invite? Thanks for all your help! I don't feel as worried as I felt earlier. Hopefully, all's well that ends well. Good luck! ?

They told us they would TRY and inform us within a week. I’m assuming they also want to know asap how many accept/deny their offer. Good luck!

Specializes in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.

I'm assuming this is the Western University program located in Pomona, California. If so, I'm looking to apply for their hybrid NP program for the fall of 2019. I've been slacking with the whole application process, but I have until March 1st to apply. Good luck to us all!

Side note, anyone here previously finished and/or have experience of the hybrid NP program? I have the base notion that most of the actual coursework, paperwork, and testing are all online while the hybrid part includes going to campus for skills and hands-on things.

Lol same. I called this afternoon and the lady told me interview invites should be going out by the 25th (next Friday) via email. I thought they were gonna go out this week so I guess they changed their minds.

They said the 25th? Hmm, I was told a different date. Ahh, I can't wait any longer. I need to know lol.

I did the same thing last year and I only applied to WesternU. Received an invite for a regular interview (Not EOAD), placed on the waitlist, and fortunately got off the waitlist at the end of April.

I would estimate that about 1/3 to 1/4 of my cohort were from the waitlist. One classmate got off the waitlist ONE WEEK before Welcome Week. My point to all applicants...do not lose hope if you end up on the waitlist. Good luck everyone and hope to meet some of you in the Fall!

Thanks so much! I have hope!

What date were you given? I was also told the remainder of the interview invites would be sent out on 1/25.

Am I the only one who is super anxious about not getting an email yet? ?

I'm also anxious waiting! I think it's because I applied late. When did you apply if you don't mind me asking?

Hmm, I was told that 3-4 weeks from January 7th which is when I called. So like late Jan/early Feb?

Do you know when non EOAD people will hear if they got accepted or denied admission?

I submitted my application on 10/12 I believe.

I wouldn't worry so much about submitting the application early vs later (Unless you submitted after the application deadline?). I literally submitted my application last year at 11:55pm (5 minutes before the deadline). I do not recommend submitting as late as I did purely because of the added stress.

They told me in person at Preview Day that they do not factor in when the application was submitted. Admissions repeated this statement to me over the phone as well. They will still review the entire application as a whole.

Just spoke to admissions and they said that the remaining 60% of interview invites will be sent this Friday and upcoming Monday. There is still hope!!! @teamplayer08
