Western University MSN-E 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I just submitted my application and wanted to start a thread for this year's application cycle. Through this thread we can lend each other advice, support, updates, and/or questions!

A little about me... I recently completed my undergraduate studies and realized nursing was my true passion. I went from pre-med --> pre-dental --> pre-PA and now I'm here! I'm super excited to have applied because I feel life I've finally found what I want to do with myself. I also barely found out that accelerated Master's programs in Nursing exist.

I read last year's thread and it said that people receive an email saying their "application has been forwarded to the admissions department" or something like that. Did anyone who applied already receive this email yet?

Cheers.

Congrats to all the people who got invites!!! So amazing! I hope to receive one as well. To all the people whi got invited to EAO, do you mind sharing your stats?? And when you submitted? Please and thank you!

Thank you! I do hope you will get an invite as well!! Hopefully more will trickle in throughout this week as tomorrow is Friday.

I have a 3.8 undergrad GPA, 1 B and A's on the rest of prereqs including science prereqs, 5 years of working in healthcare field but mostly part-time and not really direct patient care.

I submitted my application early because I wanted to get it out of the way lol, around mid September. :)

She saved the link in her bookmarks. Unsupported Browser.

It's the same link used for the application.

Thanks!! I didn't have the greatest undergrad GPA. It was less than a 3.0. My prereq GPA was a 4.0. I didn't submit my full application until late October.

I hope so but won't get my hopes up... Thank you guys for letting me know! I really appreciate it, my AllNurses fam! My GPAs are okay, but I submitted in mid-October. The reason I'm so worried is because I actually only applied to WesternU not because I'm overly confident about my application, but because I only really want to go to this program. Yes, I know.... Not the most safe thing to do, but I did it. I would be grateful for any invite at this point. If I get any correspondence I will let you guys know. January 7th seems like an eon away lol.

Hi all,

Just received an EAOD invitation! I selected 01/16 for my EAOD date. Any one else select that date?

I'm so nervous and really unsure what to expect, but I'm also super excited. ?

Me! Was hoping for more dates to choose from as it coincides with my work schedule but I'll do what I need to do to attend this. Excited/nervous! Seems as if it was a lax event, based on previous applicants' experience.

Sure, although I'm somewhat of a non traditional applicant, I think. Bachelor's from UC Berkeley, gpa 2.9. Master's from , gpa 3.2. Pre-req gpa around 3.8. Have several years of volunteering at a hospital, was a research intern for a few years and currently working as a CNA and have been for 2 years.

As you can see, my numbers are not that impressive. Life was rough in undergrad and again in second year of grad school, which brought my gpa down, but I made sure to address that in my personal statement. I think that my essays and letters of rec were what saved me, really.

Bottom line, have hope. :D

Just a heads up, the rest of the EAOD and interview invitations will start going out at the end of this week. Goodluck to everyone!?

I did the same thing last year and I only applied to WesternU. Received an invite for a regular interview (Not EOAD), placed on the waitlist, and fortunately got off the waitlist at the end of April.

I would estimate that about 1/3 to 1/4 of my cohort were from the waitlist. One classmate got off the waitlist ONE WEEK before Welcome Week. My point to all applicants...do not lose hope if you end up on the waitlist. Good luck everyone and hope to meet some of you in the Fall!

hey everyone! i received an EAOD invite this past weekend, looking forward to meeting everyone next wed jan 23!?

Has anyone received an email for interviews this week?

Hey guys, I had my EAOD interview yesterday. It was pretty informative, so I might be able to answer some questions. Staff and students seemed genuinely happy to be there and eager to help us despite the awful weather. I was pleasantly surprised!
