  1. What are some good alternatives to Nursing50 at UCLA (costs $1,400+)? I know about the UCB Extension option, any others? Thanks!
  2. The 2019-2020 calendar says that the Quarter begins Monday, September 23 and then says instruction begins Thursday, September 26. Not sure if the program starts Monday (because it's a nursing program) or if it starts Thursday like everyone else.
  3. I'm also worried about the loan amount. However, I heard from a past mecn student that she frequently spoke to the financial aid advisor about scholarship opportunities during her time in the program. Due to this, she was only about 50k in debt rather than 100k+. Hope that helps! Also, have you received an official paper letter in the mail from the graduate division? I have not gotten an official email nor paper letter but I was able to read my official letter online and I SIR/SLR'd already. Just want to make sure before I follow-up with the department.
  4. https://appstatus.grad.ucla.edu/ this one!
  5. For those who received an acceptance, did you receive any letters in the mail? Also, for some reason I never received an email from the graduate office formally accepting me but I was able to log in to my portal where I read my official acceptance letter and was also able to SIR/SLR just fine. Any feedback?
  6. Did anyone apply for the GOFP (Fellowship)? If so, do you know how it works if you are awarded? * If any MECN student reading this was a fellow, feel free to chime in! **
  7. February 28th ?
  8. Having a bit of trouble submitting the SIR and SLR. It says that the link on the official letter will direct you to where you have to go but mine only directs me to the myUCLA page. Can anyone help? ****EDIT**** I figured it out, thanks haha
  9. I was wondering the same thing! Haha
  10. Is anyone still waiting for the final admissions decision?
  11. Congrats! The final acceptance from the graduate division? Were you able to log into the portal then?
  12. I completely understand your hesitation. Better to be safe! haha Right, thank you! Hopefully they can get back to us soon.
  13. That's smart. If you don't mind me asking, is it because you are still currently enrolled at UCB? I've been out of school full-time since 2016 so I'm assuming I have to take it at UCLA. As for the provisional acceptance, I have no idea. I emailed Mark saying that upon approval from the graduate division, I intend to enroll at UCLA and he said thank you and congratulations. So, honestly...I don't know. It sounds to me like we are in, we just need our acceptance to go through the graduate division (whatever that means).
  14. For those of you who still need to take Epidemiology in the summer: I'm assuming that we have to wait until our admission is approved to be able to log in to our portal and sign up for the class, right? ?
  15. From what I've read in past forums, usually anywhere from 10-20. However, I'm sure it depends on the cohort that year. One year they took about 10 and the following year they took about 20. Wishing you and everyone else the best of luck!
